A Weekend on King West

A Weekend on King West

I was lucky enough to get invited to two different events this past weekend and I thought some of you might be interested. If you’re into art and alcohol, these things will be right up your alley.

Looking at art @ Coldstream Fine Art

On Thursday I went to see Harrison Taylor’s “Ghosts of Ancient Mountains” photography exhibition at the Coldstream Fine Art gallery. The gallery space itself is small but it’s also very intimate and I like that. The exhibition is open now until December 1st. Be sure to look out for future exhibitions on their website.

I don’t even know who this guy is but I liked how he looked in front of the art. I loved all the works in the exhibition, but this one was definitely my favourite.

Eating the night away @ Early Mercy

On Friday Shay and I went to the private media opening party at Early Mercy and as always, we were the youngest ones there and the most out of place.

We sat beside these two gorgeous women and they got hit on by at least 10 to 15 different men. Shay and I just enjoyed our cocktails and appetizers from The Food Dudes (it’s a food truck!) By the end of the night, the servers were actually bringing the appetizer plates to us. #Goals, right?

It’s a big place but it feels really cozy in here. There’s a huge bar in the centre and seating along the walls. On one of the walls is a group of hand-painted portraits of famous world leaders, which could make for some great conversation starters if you’re stuck on what to say to that attractive person over there. The entire place is pretty Insta-worthy.

The entire space has a really laid-back, cool feel and it’s somewhere you can just kick it and relax after a long day of work or school.

The grand opening is this weekend (November 6th to 7th) so check it out if you’re looking for somewhere new to party.
