It’s an exciting time for the arts right now, especially with the CONTACT Photography Festival, Canadian Music Week, and various graduate exhibitions all happening (or having happened) this month. Last week, I visited both OCAD and Coldstream Fine Art to see their latest exhibitions.
I really enjoyed OCAD’s Grad Ex last year and I wanted to go again this year. I went on opening night with Shahrzad and also came the next day with Kevin and Nick. Opening night was insanity and it was difficult to actually take in and enjoy the art. If you plan on going next year, I highly recommend going during the day on the days following opening night.
I also went to Coldstream Fine Art’s latest exhibition, “This City”. The show features different photographers and how they view Toronto in their own eyes. The exhibition is showing this entire month, so be sure to check it out.
I instantly recognized the style of photography above as works by Toronto rooftopper and Instagrammer Cosmo Calisse. I really admire the Toronto photography community on Instagram.
The photo above was one of my favourites from the exhibition. It was taken on Canada Day near Christie Pits by Nick Kozak.
Afterwards, Nick and I decided to explore a bit so we could take cool photos for Instagram.
P.S. if you liked this post, you might like this post on other art galleries you can visit in Toronto.
