There was a period of time where I was a total concert junkie. That’s not so much the case now, but I still go to shows every now and then. Whenever I miss going to concerts, I scroll through my Vine profile to re-experience past concerts again. That’s pretty much the reason why I even bother to Vine at shows at all.
1. Linkin Park Carnivores Tour (2014)
This was the best concert of my entire life. I grew up listening to Linkin Park, but they were never really my favourite band. I knew most of their songs and liked them, but I was more of an MCR or Rise Against kinda gal. Chester, Mike, and the band put on such a great show, I don’t think I’ll ever forget it. AFI and 30 Seconds to Mars opened for them and it was a perfect night.
2. Riot Fest (2014)
I went to Riot Fest every year from 2013 to 2015, and I have to say that 2014 was the best. It was like a dream. They had the ultimate power lineup and included artists such as AWOLNATION, Rise Against, Billy Talent, Tokyo Police Club, Metric, and City and Colour. It sucks that they’re not returning to Toronto this summer.
3. Imagine Dragons Night Visions Tour (2013)
While driving down to the concert from the suburbs, it was pouring heavy rain. As soon as we got to the venue, it stopped raining and the sun came out and everything was great. Imagine Dragons put on an astounding show and it was definitely worth the half hour or hour we had to wait between the previous set and theirs. I saw them in 2014 as well, but their 2013 concert was what caught my heart.
4. Atlas Genius (2015)
It was a very small, intimate show – there were less than 200 people. We instantly fell in love even as they played songs we’d never heard before. We met the band after, and they were super sweet and cool.
5. Riot Fest (2013)
This was the first time I ever went to Riot Fest and it was everything I wanted it to be. I saw Mayday Parade, Pierce the Veil, and A Day to Remember, which were at the time all bands I listened to regularly.
6. Glamour Kills Tour (2013)
I don’t really remember, but I think going to this concert was a pretty last minute idea. It turned out to be one of my favourite concerts ever. Man Overboard and Mayday Parade were awesome. Mayday had just released their new album, Monsters in the Closet, which is still my favourite album of theirs.
7. Warped Tour (2013)
I went to Warped Tour every year from 2012 to 2014, and 2013 was definitely the best. The fact that it was raining really sucked, but the amazing bands made up for it. I saw Man Overboard, Motion City Soundtrack, Go Radio, Sleeping with Sirens, 3oh!3, and The Summer Set. Like Riot Fest, Warped Tour isn’t coming to Toronto this summer.
8. Paramore Self-Titled Tour (2013)
At the time, this was the best concert I’d ever attended. Hayley and the band put on an amazing performance. Although it was at the Sound Academy (the worst concert venue ever) and my butt came in contact with dozens of other people, I had a really enjoyable experience. I apologize for the weird cuts in the clip, I didn’t know how to Vine back then.
9. The 1975 (2014)
I really loved their self-titled album and they put on a really good show. I was supposed to go to their show coming up next week, but something came up.
10. Taylor Swift 1989 World Tour (2015)
This was an entirely new experience for me. The only pop concert I’d ever been to before was Summer Rush 2010. Taylor put on an amazing performance and even though I was sitting down for the majority of the concert, I had a great time. I apologize for my horrible singing.
