It had been awhile since Adam and I had actually gone out and explored, so several weeks ago we decided to spend a day visiting new places in the city.
We started off our day with lunch at The Porch rooftop patio. The burgers tasted great and the margaritas were delicious – we drank our margaritas in these adorable little (but actually big) buckets! We went during the daytime, so I got a sunburn on my right arm. I’d love to come at nighttime one day, but I’m not about that $20 cover life.
I’ve been wanting to visit Allan Gardens for years after seeing how beautiful it looked in the movie Chloe. A movie was actually being filmed while we were there, so we weren’t able to explore the entire conservatory, but it was definitely still worth the visit.
On our way out from the conservatory, we saw some adorable pups.
We headed to the University of Toronto afterwards to visit the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library, since we weren’t able to go during Doors Open.
Quite honestly, the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library is much more intriguing in photos than it is in real life. We weren’t able to explore beyond the main floor, and all we were able to do was view everything from afar and from behind glass. Perhaps more of the library is accessible during Doors Open!
We walked to Queen West afterwards to grab ice cream at Bang Bang and ate it at Trinity Bellwoods. It’s now my favourite spot for ice cream in Toronto!
