Osheaga 2016 was a breathtaking experience. It was both my and Shahrzad’s first time at the festival, as well as my first time in Montreal. I fell in love with the city, as well as Bastille and The Strumbellas’ performances. I planned all my outfits months ahead of time (I’m that type of person), and I was super excited to wear them to the festival.
My boyfriend actually calls me Yung Lam (his nickname for me/my “rapper name”) on a daily basis. I paired it with these shorts with black crosses on them because they looked pretty badass together. We spent all day on Friday at the festival. Since we arrived early, we were able to avoid extremely long lines and we got a lot of free things. We saw Half Moon Run, The Lumineers, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
I bought this outfit combination probably over a year ago, and I knew I wanted to wear it to a music festival, but I never had the chance. Shahrzad said this outfit was very Lana Del Rey. We decided to go to the festival in the evening, and we saw Bastille, Death Cab for Cutie, and Lana Del Rey.
I don’t keep up with baseball at all, but I always thought the white Blue Jays jersey looked really cool. I paired it with a white top and light wash denim shorts to go with the whole light-coloured theme. My boyfriend actually got me the jersey for my birthday this year. We went to the festival in the late afternoon and saw The Strumbellas, M83, and Radiohead.
I’d never gone to a 3-day festival before, and it was pretty exhausting. We also explored the city (we mostly walked and biked everywhere), so it was a pretty tiring long weekend. We couldn’t believe how quickly our weekend went by.
Despite the weather app telling us it was going to rain over the weekend, it really was always sunny at Osheaga. I’ll definitely come back again if they have a really good lineup in the future. Check out my quick vlog at Osheaga below.
