7 Weird Foods You Need to Eat at the CNE This Summer

And ain’t no summer in Toronto complete without paying a visit to the CNE, and eating wacky and weird foods is one of the best parts of visiting.

Summer may be coming to an end, but at least we can end it while riding a gondola into the sunset and eating bacon-covered desserts.

Playing carnival games at the CNE is super fun too, and I actually won myself a jumbo Pikachu on my first try at a game several years back (here’s a photo)!

I’m usually pretty open to trying new things when it comes to food, and I’m always excited to try all the weird and fun foods the CNE has to offer.

The CNE is coming back this year after a two-year hiatus, and there’ll definitely be tons of crazy and weird foods you’ll want to try.

It’s happening from August 19th to September 5th, 2022!

Here are some of the weird and fun foods you can expect to find at the CNE this year!

Mustard and ketchup-flavoured ice cream

Feeling extra adventurous for your CNE foodie adventure this year?

You’ll want to add mustard and ketchup-flavoured ice cream to your list.

This interesting concoction is the brainchild of local Toronto vendor Harrison Swift, the creative mind behind the pickle lemonade from a past CNE!

Mac and cheese cone

Enjoy carbs on carbs with the epic mac and cheese cone from Eva’s Original Chimneys.

Choose between butternut cashew mac and cheese or jerk mac and cheese!

Eva’s is one of Toronto’s most beloved dessert spots, serving up chimney cakes stuffed with ice cream and toppings.

Chimney cakes are a Hungarian pastry that’s crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, and Eva’s makes them with all-natural and mostly organic ingredients.

Leaning T.O.wer of Pisa

Have your dinner and dessert in one with the Leaning T.O.wer of Pisa by San Francescos.

The waffle cone is stuffed with panko-crusted meatballs, a mozzarella stick, cotton candy, garlic aioli, and sprinkles.

Unique? Interesting? Should be illegal? You decide.

Flamin’ Hot Cheetos smash burger

Flamin’ Hot Cheetos is prob one of my favourite crispy snacks, and this smash burger is worthy of all your Cheeto dreams.

This double burger features bacon and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos sandwiched between a bun made with even more Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.

This epic creation is by Bacon Nation, and they have a location in Kensington Market!

Krispy Kreme pulled pork

For those of y’all who love both sweet and savoury: the Krispy Kreme pulled pork.

Pulled pork and coleslaw are stuffed between two Krispy Kreme doughnuts, making for a messy but oh so delicious sandwich.

This funky creation is by Pull’d!

Two foot long taco

If you’re a taco lover, you’ll definitely want to try the two foot long taco from Machette.

Choose between the chorizo, ground beef, or mushrooms, and definitely share with a friend so you can try more food at the CNE!

Mac and cheese lemonade

Real Fruit Drinks is serving up mac and cheese lemonade and spicy pickle lemonade if you’re looking to… quench your thirst?

The mac and cheese lemonade is made using cheese powder and macaroni noodles, and the spicy pickle lemonade is a spicy take on the pickle lemonade they had at a previous CNE.
