TIFF 2016 is starting this weekend, which means it’s time to get started on planning your film schedules. While you’re at it, you might as well plan where you want to go to eat during the festival, because it’s stressful as heck trying to find places to eat when you’ve got so many options.
Here are a few of my favourite places to eat around Toronto that you need to try during TIFF 2016.
1. Little India
Indian food is always a good idea. If you’re catching an afternoon film, Little India’s got a $12.99 lunch buffet and you can get endless amounts of delicious butter chicken. It’s just north of TIFF, by Queen and John.
4 minutes from Scotiabank Theatre, 6 minutes from Princess of Wales Theatre, 7 minutes from TIFF Bell Lightbox, 8 minutes from Roy Thomson Hall, 11 minutes from Winter Garden Theatre

2. The Dime
If you’re broke from spending money on tickets for films, pay a visit to The Dime for some cheap eats. Everything on their menu is $4.95 and their food is amazing. I also did a review.
12 minutes from Scotiabank Theatre, 16 minutes from TIFF Bell Lightbox, 17 minutes from Princess of Wales Theatre
538 Queen St. West | Website
If you’re too lazy to walk or commute anywhere, simply walk next door to TIFF Bell Lightbox and eat at Canteen. Any restaurant by Oliver & Bonacini is always delicious.
1 minute from TIFF Bell Lightbox and Princess of Wales Theatre, 5 minutes from Roy Thomson Hall and Scotiabank Theatre

4. The WORKS
If you’re feeling a burger, try the WORKS, one of my fave burger joints. They’ve got unlimited options and endless possibilities for burgers.
11 minutes from Winter Garden Theatre, 13 minutes from Roy Thomson Hall
60 Wellington St. East | Website
5. Fonda Lola
Fonda Lola is my most favourite Mexican spot ever, and their patio is the cutest place to hang out after a great film. On September 15th, they’re having a street-style celebration with food stands and everything, and you can grab tickets for that here. You can also check out my reviews of Fonda Lola here and here. It’s a bit of a walk from any of the theatres, but it’s so worth it.
27 minutes from Scotiabank Theatre, 30 minutes from TIFF Bell Lightbox
942 Queen St. West | Website
