If you’ve been following me for long enough, you’ll know that Mexican cuisine is one of my absolute favourites. I was lucky enough to get invited to yet another foodie event and I was super excited! This time, it was at Quesada Burritos and Tacos by Dundas and University. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to bring a plus one, so I braved it out on my own for the first time.
At the event was a salsa-making challenge, and I got to be the first one to make my own salsa! Too bad I can’t cook for my own life and too bad I have no clue how to make salsa. I just put mango, pineapple, orange, and lime juice in mine. Not exactly salsa material, but at least it tasted good.
What’s even better than an open bar? An open bar including Jarritos! Pineapple and guava are my fave flavours.
I can never say no to good ol’ guac and chips.
Pictured above are the Barbacoa soft tacos (I think). I honestly lost track of what everything was because there was just so much food. I was also unable to take many photos because people kept snapping photos and grabbing food immediately afterwards! I couldn’t really blame them though, because the food looked so darn good.
I ate so many chips and drunken chicken burritos that I couldn’t really fit anything else into my stomach. It was a great night.
This was all the salsa everyone made as part of the salsa-making challenge!
If you didn’t already know, Quesada Burritos and Tacos has been around for 13 years, and there are currently 78 restaurants in Canada. Founder and Chief Recipe Officer Steve Gill opened the first Quesada restaurant in Toronto back in 2004, and it blew up from there. His recipes are influenced by Mexican cuisine, fresh ingredients, and making healthier choices, for all you health nuts out there.
Be sure to try the drunken chicken burritos (only available for a limited time) and pair it with a delicious bottle of Jarritos – you’ll thank me later.
