After visiting Hong Kong for the first time last summer, I fell in love with trying new skincare products. There were just so many different beauty boutiques with so many interesting products haha! I don’t really break out that often, so trying different products doesn’t take too much of a toll on my skin.
While I do like to try new skincare products, very rarely do they make it onto my everyday routine. I recently added some new ones to my skincare routine so I thought I’d share it with you.
I start with my regular cleanser, Too Cool for School’s Egg Mousse Soap, which I have a full review on here. Having used it for the last 6 months as my everyday cleanser, I really do like it and I think it does the job perfectly. I’m still not a fan of the whole mousse texture, but I’ve gotten used to it.
I was gifted some skincare products from Aiona Alive by Think Dirty, an app that lets you scan the barcode of your everyday products to see how toxic they are based on their ingredients. They’re all about clean, safe, and non-toxic products, and Aiona Alive’s products are completely natural, chemical-free, and made with live collagen. I’ve been liking the products so much that I’ve added them to my regular skincare routine.
After washing off my Too Cool for School cleanser, I go in with Aiona Alive’s serum. After gently rubbing it in, I go in with the mask. After using these two, my skin feels so smooth, even up to when I wake up in the morning. I haven’t found any other products that keep your face smooth for this long, which is why I really like these. I’m really into having baby-soft skin.
These products supposedly help with acne, but I didn’t really find that it helped in preventing or reducing any breakouts. Like I said before, I don’t really breakout, but I’ve been using these almost everyday for the last two weeks and a few days ago I had a bit of a breakout on my forehead. I don’t think it was the products, though – it was most likely the fact that it’s been getting warmer out and I’ve been sweating more. Either way, these didn’t prevent or help with acne for me.
Lastly, I moisturize my face with Olay’s Anti-Aging Moisturizer. I’ve been using this ever since I can remember because my parents always used it. People are usually surprised by how young my parents look, and it could very well be because they’ve both been using this moisturizer since they were teenagers. While I do want to maintain my youthful skin, I mostly use this product because it keeps my dry skin moisturized all day and all night.
Have you tried any of these products? What products are in your everyday skincare routine? I’d love to hear about them!
