Now that the weather’s been starting to warm up (again… darn it Toronto), I’ve been picking up some new pieces for summer. Summer is really the only time I wear more trendier pieces – I usually just wear t-shirts, jeans, and black booties during the rest of the seasons, as you’d probably be able to tell from my Instagram.
DressLily sent me a few items and I thought I’d share them with you! Adam’s currently out of town so I shot all of these photos myself with a tripod and my phone as a remote. It was actually pretty easy once I got the hang of it! These were actually a reshoot because I didn’t like the photos I shot from the day before. I’m starting to get used to the whole manual thing on my camera, and I’ve been having a lot of fun playing around with it.

1. Off the Shoulder
I know I’ve been raving about off the shoulder tops in all of my recent outfit posts, but can you blame me?! They’re so feminine and flattering, and they’re definitely a must-have for this summer. I’m in love with this flowy off the shoulder top and I love how it looks with either jeans or shorts.
2. Statement Stripes
I’ve been seeing stripes everywhere lately, but I feel like it’s actually one of those trends that never really goes away! I’ve never really been a stripes person, but I do love light blue and white as a colour combo for striped pieces. This romper is super cute, and I love how it’s off the shoulder! I’ll definitely be living in this all summer.
3. Little White Dress
Of course you can’t have a complete summer wardrobe without a little white dress. I have way more than I need, but they’re just so darn cute. This white dress is pretty see-through, so you’d definitely have to wear a slip under it, but it’s also short enough to wear as a top.
4. Pretty Florals
Groundbreaking, I know. I don’t know what to describe this type of floral as, but I’ve been seeing it on dresses and rompers all over the place, and I’m so in love with this one. Unfortunately the neckline is a pretty deep V, so you’ll definitely have to pin the neckline or use fashion tape. I can totally picture wearing this on a date night!
What’s your favourite spring/summer trend? Where do you shop for trendy new pieces? I’d love to know in the comments!
