I received a complimentary massage in exchange for this post. As always, all opinions are my own.
Did you know that regular massages have a positive effect on both your physical state and emotional well-being? They’ve been proven to alleviate stress, improve circulation and flexibility, lower blood pressure, manage pain (including headaches), boost the immune system, soothe anxiety and depression, and even help you sleep better.
Hand and Stone‘s lifestyle program is a great way to experience affordable luxury. Membership to the program is free, and there are over 20 locations in Ontario alone, so you can easily find a location most convenient for you! Hand and Stone makes it both easy and affordable for you to add monthly massages to your self-care routine.

Hand and Stone offered me the opportunity to receive a massage, and to be honest, I didn’t know what to expect. I’d never received a massage from a certified RMT before, and I was a little nervous. I’ve been trying to break out of my comfort zone this year by trying new things, and I’m certainly glad I tried this!
I went to the Hand and Stone at Jarvis and Adelaide. Let me just start off by saying that the service is absolutely phenomenal! My masseuse, Sarah, made sure that I felt as comfortable as I could possibly be. The funny thing that happened was that she already recognized me because she commented on one of my photos a few days before, congratulating me on my graduation!
Before the massage, I was uncomfortable with the idea of being nude, but it actually wasn’t uncomfortable at all. Sarah gave me privacy to change before and after the massage, and she always covered the blanket over wherever I wasn’t being massaged. I was also able to keep my underwear on.
Sarah asked me about any specific parts I wanted her to focus on as well as the amount of pressure I wanted. I tend to get a lot of back pain, so I told her that. Since it was my first time getting a massage, I asked her to do a regular amount of pressure, but next time I definitely think more pressure would be even better.
By the time Sarah finished the massage, I didn’t even realize it had already been an hour. I left feeling very refreshed and rejuvenated, and I could see why people liked going to spas and getting massages. I never thought it would be something I’d enjoy! I definitely want to go back sometime – perhaps I’ll even take Adam with me!
