Back-to-School Fashion & Beauty Essentials

Thank you to Amazon Canada for sponsoring this post. This post contains affiliate links, which if you choose to purchase from, Diary of a Toronto Girl receives a commission. As always, I only ever endorse products I truly believe in.

For the first time in my life, I’m not going back to school this September, and it feels weird as heck. I’ll be applying for Master’s programs in a few months though, so hopefully I’ll be going back to school next September! Although I won’t be going back to school this year, I know many of you guys are, so I thought I’d share some of my back-to-school fashion and beauty essentials from Amazon. Amazon can be a bit difficult to navigate, so I’ve simplified it for you by picking out my absolutely favourite things!

If you’re not an Amazon Prime member already, I highly recommend you sign up. You get unlimited free two-day shipping on millions of items. It’s free for students for the first six months, then 50% off while you’re in school. There are always great deals and sales (including many products in this post), and they can sometimes be cheaper than anywhere else!

I signed up for Prime back in first year to buy textbooks but never ended up using it – if I’d known you could get anything from toilet paper to makeup to groceries delivered to your door, I 100% would have used it! You can sign up for Amazon Student here.

Numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 are Amazon’s Private Label brands, meaning you can only get them if you’re an Amazon Prime member. Take advantage of your six month free trial as a student by signing up here.

The dresses are all from Amazon’s Private Label fast-fashion brand, Paris Sunday, and they’re all very reasonably priced. The top is from Ella Moon, my favourite Private Label brand – their pieces remind me of Free People. Calvin Klein bras are my fave to lounge around in because they’re so comfy! The sports bra is from Mae, one of the Private Label brands.

The denim pieces are from Levi’s and True Religion. The pink cap is from Adidas – isn’t it the cutest?! I love the Amazon Basics backpack because it’s full of so many pockets, which I definitely needed while I was in school. Leather backpacks are one of my all-time essentials (I’ve gone through two already), and this faux leather one is adorable.

I don’t own a pair of pink sneakers yet, but I’m dying to have one. This Adidas pair is perfect for everyday wear! I actually own both pairs of these Steve Madden booties, and they’re currently both on sale! I’m actually surprised by how amazing Amazon’s sales are, and I’m constantly looking for deals in the shoe category hehe.

I tried out Maybelline’s Great Lash mascara because my sister raved about it, and I’m absolutely in love! Maybelline’s Color Sensational lipsticks are the only drugstore lipsticks I like, and Touch of Spice is currently on my wishlist. I’ve heard both good and bad things about Maybelline’s Fit Me foundation, but I’m going to give it a try after I run out of my current foundation. It’s under $10, so it’s perfect for a student budget!

I’ve tried theBalm’s liquid lipsticks and I wasn’t the biggest fan, but this Mary-Lou Manizer has pretty good reviews, so it’s on my wishlist. This Mario Badescu facial spray is very popular, and while I don’t think it does anything amazing, it smells great and is very refreshing. I always wear sunscreen under my foundation, and this Aveeno one is great.

These Aveeno SEVENmakeup wipes are the best I’ve tried, and I’ve heard good things about Garnier’s Micellar cleansing water. The Body Shop’s tea tree oil has done wonders for me, and this tea tree oil facial wash is currently on my wishlist. L’Oreal’s EverPure hair products have worked so well on my dry hair, and I highly recommend them for those of you who’ve dyed your hair way too many times like me! This Oribe texturizing spray is also on my wishlist. I already have pin-straight hair, but for those of you who don’t, try this straightening brush out!

Burt’s Bees lip balms are one of my faves, and this gift set is great to carry around with you. I’ve been using electric toothbrushes since the dawn of time, and I highly recommend them. Dove’s pomegranate-scented soap is my favourite one of theirs!
