7 Halloween Costumes You Can Wear All Year-Round

7 Halloween Costumes You Can Wear All Year-Round

Halloween’s almost here, and it’s time to start thinking costumes. While it’s cute to be able to buy a unique costume and dress up for one day of the year, it isn’t always a great idea for your wallet. Rather than buy something you’ll only wear once, why not buy something that you’ll wear dozens of times? I’ve put together a list of some costume ideas as well as some cute pieces you can find on Amazon.

Amazon’s your one-stop shop for everything Halloween, from pet costumes to cheap horror movies to decorations and party decor. You can shop the whole Halloween Store at www.amazon.ca/halloween. You don’t have to worry about last minute shopping either – you can get tons of Halloween goodies with free same, next, or two-day shipping with Amazon Prime (restrictions apply). If you don’t already have an Amazon Prime membership, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial here!

Prime membership comes with Amazon Prime Video, so you can also enjoy unlimited Halloween movie night essentials like the Amityville Terror, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Hotel Transylvania. I’ll have a post on some of my top horror movies (I adore them and have seen the worst of the worst) soon, so be on the lookout for that!

Without further ado, let’s get to the costumes!

1. Georgie from It

Everyone’s definitely going to recognize the iconic yellow coat whether they’ve seen the It movie or not, so not only will you be praised for your unique costume, but you’ll have a cute ‘lil outfit to rock on cold rainy days. Plus, you can get free shipping on both of these things if you’re an Amazon Prime member, so you can order it last minute if you have to.

2. Rick and Morty

You probably won’t be able to get any Szechuan sauce, and maybe you won’t even wear the lab coat more than once (though you never know when it comes to fashion), but at least you’ll get to impress fellow Rick and Morty fans. This would be great as a duo costume! Adam actually dressed up as Morty two Halloweens ago. Also, these are also free shipping with Prime membership!

3. A Millennial

Show off your millennialness with a millennial pink baseball cap and a pair of avocado socks. I won’t be going out for Halloween, but I may actually have to pick this cap up for myself…

4. An Ex-Wife

Kudos if you know where this is from. Slap on any white maxi dress and some creepy zombie makeup, and you’ll be sure to terrify anyone and everyone! All of these picks are free shipping with Prime.

5. A Scene Kid

No need for a fringe or coon tails – just the basic scene kid essentials: plaid, stripes, and bright colours. Oh, and the thick eyeliner. Did anyone else draw on their Chucks with Sharpies during their scene kid phase?

6. Princess Belle

All you need to recreate Belle’s look from the ballroom scene in Beauty and the Beast is a yellow off-the-shoulder dress (which you can easily re-wear to weddings, special events, etc.) and a half up-do (there are plenty of hair tutorials on YouTube). You can even pick up a single rose if you’re feeling extra.

7. Waldo or Wilma

Do a cool girl version of the traditional Waldo or Wilma. Red and white stripes and denim are essential! If you’ve got dark-rimmed glasses, don’t forget to wear those as well.

What will you be dressing up as this Halloween? I’d love to know in the comments! If you’d rather go with actual costumes, you can shop women’s costumes on Amazon here, and get 20% off select costumes here.

  • I definitely know where #4 is from, you should have posted this on October 3rd!! This is my kind of post! 😀

    • Hahaha if only I’d thought of this post back then! Perhaps next year it’ll be a post all about Mean Girls-inspired costumes 😛

  • That’s totally a great idea to go as Georgie for Halloween!

  • I purchased a Hello Kitty costume from my local shop, LOL, and I still don’t know how I feel about it. It’s just one of those things that I grabbed because I can’t show up to a Halloween party undressed. If I saw this sooner, I would’ve totally gone for Georgie!

    • Hahaha Hello Kitty is a cute costume as well!

  • Unfortunately I am not dressing up this year but the georgie look is my favorite on the list! I love rain coats and rain boots

    • Thanks Nancy! I’d probably wear that in real life too haha.

  • So many cute ideas! I definitely prefer this way of dressing up, that way your not spending a ridiculous amount on something that you’ll never wear again.

I’m the worst and never dress up for Halloween, but I’m going to a concert on Halloween this year and now I’m wondering if I need to cop one of these ideas and try it out to be festive lol

  • Nice inspiration ✿

  • Loveee these ideas!! I am the person who hates spending money for a costume so I usually throw together something like this!

    • Thanks Keri!! I’m pretty lazy/last-minute when it comes to costumes so I usually just resort to things I already have as well haha!

  • Kimberly Hsieh

These are all such cute ideas! Princess Belle for sure 🙂

    • Haha thanks Kim! If I were going out I’d probably dress up as Georgie hahaha.

  • These are awesome ideas! Inspiring me!

  • I like your take on using a costume that you can actually wear anytime! Nice post and great ideas!
