Ain’t no outfit more Canadian than a Canadian tuxedo (AKA denim on denim).
The Canadian tuxedo is one of my fave looks to rock, and of course you need the perfect denim pieces to make it work.
When it comes to denim, it’s so important to find a pair that fits right for you.
It’s definitely a little intimidating to wear at first, but once you’ve got the right fitting pieces, you’ll be wearing this easy look all the time.
Here are some of my tips on how to wear a Canadian tuxedo aka denim on denim!
1. Find jeans that flatter your booty
Flattering the booty is the most important thing tbh.
You’ll want a pair of jeans that’ll add shape to your body, so you don’t just feel like a lump of denim.
Levi’s is one of my fave denim brands, and these high waisted and distressed jeans are v flattering on the booty.
2. Dress it up or casual it down
Dress up your Canadian tuxedo with a lace bustier and strappy heels, or make it more casual with a white tee and simple white Chucks.
It all depends on the look you’re going for!
3. Mismatch your denim jacket and jeans
You could match the shade of your denim jacket and bottoms, but sometimes it can look a little over the top.
Try mismatching the shades and wearing a light wash jacket with darker denim, or a darker jacket with light wash denim.
This also helps to add some interest and dimension to your outfit!
4. Break up the denim
If you are going to wear matching shades of denim, break it up by tying a plaid shirt around your waist or adding a pop of colour to your top.
5. Try denim shorts or skirts
If a denim jacket with jeans is too far out of your comfort zone, go with denim shorts or a denim skirt instead.
It’s a lot less out there, but it’s still just as cute!
The Canadian tuxedo is one of my go-to outfits because it’s so easy to throw on, and you can pretty much wear it everyday if you really want to.
