What to Wear to the Budlight Dreams Festival

Thank you NEON Clothing for sponsoring this post on the Budlight Dreams Festival. As always, all opinions are my own.

I’ve always had a thing for music festivals.

I love that there’s so much more going on than just the music – everything from the effort people put into their outfits to the cool activities to the unique food vendors!

For me, the best part of going to music festivals is dressing up.

When I used to go to Warped Tour and Riot Fest (which both sadly do not stop in Toronto anymore), I would plan my outfits months ahead of time.

When I found out I was going to Osheaga last year, I planned my outfits almost a year in advance!

NEON Clothing sent me off to Budlight Dreams Festival last weekend with a few new outfit pieces, and I had a blast.

I’d never been to an EDM festival or rave before and I was pretty nervous about it, but it was just like any other music festival I’d been to.

Here’s a little photo diary featuring the outfits I wore on both days of the Budlight Dreams Festival!

Dress: Billabong from NEON Toronto (gifted) | Shoes: Converse (gifted) | Backpack: Fjallraven from NEON Toronto (gifted)

Since I’d never been to anything like Budlight Dreams Festival before, I wasn’t sure how to dress for it, so I decided to just go with my own style.

Even if I didn’t fit in with everyone else, I was happy to express myself the way I wanted to!

While shopping at NEON, I came across this pretty floral number from Billabong.

I wasn’t sure if it would look good on me and I probably revisited it at least five times before I finally tried it on, but I ended up loving it!

I also fell in love with this super cute backpack from Fjallraven, and it was a perfect match for the dress.

Of course, I paired the outfit with my trusty white Chucks – it’s always important to be comfy at music festivals!

Getting into the festival was pretty intense with all the pouring rain, endless lines, venue temporarily shutting down, and arguing with the woman at the box office.

By the time we got in, it was pretty late, but we made the best of it and enjoyed ourselves.

Day 2

Top: O-Mighty | Shorts: Levi’s from NEON Toronto (gifted) | Shoes: Converse (gifted) | Backpack: Fjallraven from NEON Toronto (gifted)

I’ve had this halter top lying around in my closet forever, and I thought it was about time to wear it out.

Plus, the red writing on it matched the red writing on my backpack!

I’ve been looking for the perfect Levi’s shorts literally everywhere, and I really like this pair from NEON.

I jazzed up the look with a pair of translucent red sunnies and wore my Chucks again.

We had much better luck on the second day and enjoyed the full experience of the festival.

There were great food vendors, fun activities (Adam KOed me in the inflatable wrestling ring), and lots of sunshine.

Despite the fact that neither of us really listen to EDM (I only know all the popular songs), Adam and I had a great time at the festival.
