Fine Taste Hakka Chinese Restaurant

If you’ve never tasted Hakka cuisine before, prepare to be amazed.

Hakka cuisine is sort of a mix between Chinese and Indian cuisines, and it’s absolutely amazing.

Go for their Chili Chicken or Manchurian Chicken, both with gravy.

You’ll also find Americanized Chinese dishes like Kung Pao Chicken and Crispy Ginger Beef.

All of their dishes are halal as well!

Mexico Lindo

Enjoy homestyle Mexican eats at this vibrant and eclectic spot in Whitby.

Choose from a variety of burrito or fajita options, perfect for pairing with one of their Mexican beers.

It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the food is authentic and tastes amazing!

Brunch at Smash Kitchen and Bar in Markham, Ontario

Smash Kitchen & Bar

Smash puts unique, Southern-inspired spins on classic comfort food dishes, and they’ve got an incredible brunch menu on weekends.

From their BBQ Brisket Grilled Cheese to their Home Fried Buttermilk Chicken, they’ve got tons of amazing comfort food dishes.

They’ve even got a Southern Platter that’s perfect for sharing – it features fried chicken, ribs, croquettes, mac & cheese, gravy, coleslaw, and pickled cucumbers!

Their OG location is in Markham, but they have a location in Whitby by Landmark Cinemas.

A Tavola Bistro

You’ll find Mediterranean cuisine at A Tavola.

They make their own artisan breads and handcrafted pastas in-house, and they’ve even got plenty of gluten-free pastas, breads, and pastries to choose from.

Try their Ricotta Gnocchi with house-smoked pork belly, or their Seafood Linguine Nera using squid ink pasta!

Fun fact: “a tavola” means “to the table” in Italian!

KB Food

KB is a fun and casual spot with colourful murals, and they have a menu filled with dishes made using local and sustainable ingredients.

Try their Lemon Ricotta Gnocchi or go for their Ontario Venison Sirloin.

They also have brunch on Sundays – try their Kbenny with crispy pork belly on their house focaccia!

If you’re visiting during summer, they’ve got a lovely patio out front.

The Brock House Kitchen & Bar

Enjoy Canadian fusion dishes at the cozy, cottage-inspired space of The Brock House.

From Beef Barbacoa Nachos, to Korean Fried Chicken Bites, to Pork Schnitzel, you’ll find plenty of amazing dishes.

Harvest

Harvest is a charming restaurant in the community of Brooklin, housed in a historic 120-year-old century home.

Their inventive fusion menu changes up by the seasons with dishes like their Mushroom Spring Rolls, Bourbon Glazed Pork Tenderloin, and Jerk Pork Burger.

It’s a super cute spot, though they’re only open for dinner!
