Best restaurants in Bowmanville
Toasted Walnut
Toasted Walnut is a homey café and bakery right in downtown Bowmanville that’s perfect for brunch or lunch.
They serve up daily lunch specials and freshly-baked pastries like scones and butter tarts.
Their café has a modern farmhouse vibe, and it’s super cute!
LOCATION: 7 King St. East, Bowmanville, ON

Talk of the Town
Formerly a food truck, Talk of the Town occupies a teeny tiny spot on King Street in downtown Bowmanville.
They serve up juicy smash burgers and fried chicken sandwiches, as well as sides like Egg Rolls and Sucio Fries (so good, and they don’t skimp out on toppings).
Prices are also quite fair, with the burgers ranging from $7 to $11!
Order ahead for pickup on Uber Eats for a couple extra bucks, or you’ll be waiting an hour for your food amongst other impatient customers.
There’s no seating inside, but you can bring your takeout over to Rotary Park and have a lil’ picnic!
LOCATION: 7 King St. West, Bowmanville, ON
Loaded Pierogi
Loaded Pierogi is an amazing Toronto-based pierogi chain with a few locations across the GTA, including in Bowmanville.
Their pierogis are literally heaven on earth, no lie.
You can choose between boiled or fried pierogis, and toppings like BBQ Brisket or Butter Chicken.
You can find them in the Clarington Shopping Centre!
LOCATION: 2377 Durham Regional Hwy 2 Unit 216, Bowmanville, ON

Junior’s Handmade Sourdough Pizza
Stop by this food truck on King Street for their handmade sourdough pizzas (the dough is amaze).
You can either choose from one of their signature pizzas, or build your own pizza with unlimited toppings.
I’d personally build my own pizza as the toppings on our Jerk Chicken & Pineapple Pizza were pretty sparse.
Their Famous Dill Pickle Pizza is on my list to try though!
I’d recommend calling ahead and ordering for pickup to make it quick and easy.
LOCATION: 181 King St. East, Bowmanville, ON
Pingle’s Farm Market
Pingle’s is an adorable farm in Durham Region that offers up some of the best food and treats in the neighbourhood.
They always have pastries, treats, and frozen foods, but throughout the year (and during events like their annual Harvest Festival) they also serve up dishes like sourdough pizza pies, sandwiches, and more.
Though they don’t actually have any indoor seating, they do have a front patio during the warmer months.
They even have apple and pumpkin picking here during the fall months!
If you’re up for some fall hiking afterwards, check out Stephen’s Gulch Conservation Area, one of my favourite hikes in Durham Region that’s only 10 minutes away from Pingle’s!
LOCATION: 1805 Taunton Rd, Hampton, ON
Three Six Kitchen & Lounge
If you’re looking to visit a nicer spot in Bowmanville, you’ll want to pay a visit to Three Six on King Street.
They use fresh and local ingredients for their contemporary fusion dishes, including everything from their Fried Turkey Schnitzel Sandwich to their Spicy Shrimp Spaghetti.
There’s also a good selection of cocktails, beer, and wine if you’re in the mood for a drank!
It’s the perfect spot for a date night in Bowmanville.
LOCATION: 36 King St. East, Bowmanville, ON
Chanterelle Bistro
Another casual fine dining restaurant to visit in Bowmanville is Chanterelle, where you’ll find French and Italian-inspired dishes.
From Ricotta Cheese Gnocchi to their Lobster Risotto, they’ve got tons of delicious dishes to choose from.
They’ve also been around for almost two decades!
LOCATION: 33 Division St, Bowmanville, ON
