We had a lot of fun exploring all the beautiful sights in Ireland, but the great food spots were a highlight as well.
There are plenty of delicious restaurants all over the country, and you’ll find plenty of fish & chips and Irish breakfasts everywhere.

Best breakfast & brunch restaurants in Ireland
While traditional Irish breakfasts are a go-to, you’ll also find plenty of other awesome breakfast and brunch dishes.

Brother Hubbard
Craving some Middle Eastern-inspired brunch in Dublin?
Not only was the interior stunning, the food was incredible as well.
I loved the tiny juice that came on my breakfast plate!

La Pausa Caffe
We came to La Pausa Caffe twice during our trip because it was so good.
Gotta take advantage of all the Irish breakfast while you can, ya know?
The Irish breakfast was great, and the coffees were amazing as well.

Boka Restaurant
Boka is a cute and colourful restaurant in the heart of Kenmare.
We both got classic Irish breakfasts and loved them!
The interior of the restaurant was adorable and super Instagrammable as well.

Camo’s Restaurant
Camo’s is not a fancy place, but it’s a homey spot with great food.
We both grabbed the Irish breakfast, which comes with bacon, sausages, pudding, egg, chips, and toast.
It was a nice way to warm up on a rainy day!

Maggie Mays
Maggie Mays was packed when we arrived!
I really wanted to try one of their dozens of milkshakes, but since we were eating out for almost every meal, we tried to keep it as low budget as we could.
I ended up getting some sort of cheese sandwich, and Adam got an Irish breakfast.

Best lunch & dinner restaurants in Ireland
If we’re being honest, we were expecting Irish food to be bland.
But, a lot of the restaurants we visited had incredible and flavourful dishes!
Here are some of the best restaurants to grab lunch and dinner in Ireland.

Bunsen
Bunsen is a simple burger restaurant with a teeny tiny menu of literally two things: the hamburger and the cheeseburger.
It’s cheap and delicious!
It’s located right in the Temple Bar area, so you can enjoy exploring afterwards.

Gallaghers Boxty House
Boxty House is known for their traditional Irish potato pancakes, otherwise known as boxty pancakes.
I had a delicious steak that was wrapped in a boxty pancake!
We also sampled some craft beer, and we loved everything we tasted.

Pluck’s of Kilmac
We stopped by Pluck’s for lunch after landing in Dublin.
Adam got the fish & chips and I got the chicken fingers, both of which were absolutely delicious.
We were surprised that tip wasn’t expected – they just take your credit card and charge the bill right on it!
We did learn later that tip is expected in more touristy places like downtown Dublin.

My Boy Blue
Looking for a nice restaurant to check out in Dingle?
My Boy Blue is a simple café with amazing food.
We both got the breakfast burger, which also came with salad and potatoes.
I burned my tongue really badly with the hot potatoes, but it was still delicious.

Moran’s Oyster Cottage
Moran’s Oyster Cottage is famous for their seafood, and they’ve been around since the late 1700s.
The restaurant itself has only been open since the 1960s though.
The seafood was delicious, but I definitely think it’s overhyped.
Adam thought it lived up to the hype though!

Walsh’s Bakery
Walsh’s is a hotspot for casual breakfast and lunch.
It was super busy and difficult to find a table when we arrived for lunch!
It’s located in a cute little coastal town called Clifden, and you can walk around afterwards.

The Rusty Mackerel
We stopped by The Rusty Mackerel for lunch after hiking Slieve League.
The seafood chowder was delicious, and definitely way better than the canned chowder we’re used to at home!

Warehouse Cafe & Bistro
We stopped by Warehouse Cafe & Bistro for lunch before exploring Londonderry.
The burgers here were delicious, but definitely overpriced.
I think it ended up being around $20 Canadian each!
The currency in Northern Ireland is in pounds rather than euros, so things are more expensive for us Canadians.
Attached to the cafe is also a gift shop if you’re looking to shop for some souvenirs.

Made in Belfast
Made in Belfast was probably my favourite restaurant in all of Ireland.
I had a huge steak craving, and their grass-fed steak was absolutely incredible.
Definitely one of the best steaks I’ve ever had!
We also got local beer and cider to try, which we both enjoyed.

Best dessert & snack places in Ireland
If you’ve got a sweet tooth, there are plenty of great spots to grab desserts or snacks in Ireland.
Here are some of the best Ireland places to grab dessert!
- Murphy’s Ice Cream
- Taboo Donuts (Belfast)
Murphy’s Ice Cream
Murphy’s is an Irish ice cream chain with locations across the country.
Their home base is in Dingle, and they’ve got two locations literally a block away from one another!
We tried the Saucy Chocolate Cookie with Irish coffee ice cream and the Sticky Toffee Pudding with brown bread ice cream – both were amazing.
Definitely gotta make a stop at this local chain if you’re an ice cream fan!

Taboo Donuts
If you’re a donut lover, you’ll love the donuts here at Taboo.
I had probably the best donut I’ve ever had while we were here!
We stumbled across Taboo while exploring Belfast, and they have two locations here.
