If you’re planning a trip to Calgary, here are some other posts to help you plan your perfect trip:

Best takeout restaurants in Calgary

Assorted cold cut banh mi from Saigon Deli in Calgary, Alberta

Saigon Deli

This unassuming Vietnamese takeout spot serves up the best banh mi in Calgary.

Their Satay Beef Sub is amaze, and their Cold Cut Sub is delicious as well.

If you don’t know what banh mi is, they’re Vietnamese sub sandwiches typically filled with meat, pickled veggies, and pâté on a baguette.

You can find them in the east end of Calgary, about 10 minutes east of the Calgary Zoo!

LOCATION: 4527 8 Ave SE, Calgary, AB

Sandwiches from Sidewalk Citizen Bakery in Calgary, Alberta

Sidewalk Citizen Bakery

I could literally eat Sidewalk Citizen’s amazing sandwiches every single day.

They have all kinds of delicious Mediterranean-inspired pastries and sandwiches, and everything is just *chef’s kiss*.

All of their pastries are handcrafted from scratch, and they make their own in-house preserves!

Their sandwiches are all made with their own breads, and their sourdough is amaze.

They have three locations in Calgary, and my fave is their East Village location.

LOCATION: 4527 8 Ave SE, Calgary, AB

Alumni Sandwich & Liquor Bar in Calgary, Alberta

Alumni Sandwiches

Alumni is one of Calgary’s best sandwich shops, and they serve up amazing sandwiches in a vintage-inspired diner space.

Their Hot Chicken sandwich is incredible, and I would definitely go for the half spice (coming from someone who loves spicy foods).

The Rosemary Beef Dip sandwich is also very good – though it’s quite messy to eat!

A lot of their sandwiches can be made dairy-free, gluten-free, or vegetarian if you have any dietary restrictions.

LOCATION: 725 17 Ave SW, Calgary, AB

Californian Panino from The Holy Grill in Calgary, Alberta

The Holy Grill

The Holy Grill serves up sandwich heaven using fresh and simple ingredients.

They’ve got a great selection of paninis and burgers, as well as all-day breakfast sandwiches.

Go for their Italian Panino if you love cheese, or their decked-out Veggie Burger if you’re looking for vegetarian options!

You can visit them at one of their three locations in downtown Calgary.

Seniore’s Pizza

Famous for their Donair Pizza, Seniore’s is definitely one of the best spots for pizza in Calgary.

They even have a Chicken Donair Pizza if you’re not a fan of beef!

They do free delivery if you live within 2 km, and you get a free 2 litre pop with any pickup order over $20.

LOCATION: 176 Bedford Drive NE Suite 7 Calgary, AB

Sandwiches from Sidewalk Citizen Bakery in Calgary, Alberta

Po-ke

Enjoy poke bowls and sushi burritos at this local spot, which was actually Calgary’s very first poke restaurant.

Go for one of their signature bowls like their Traditional Bowl (with marinated ahi tuna) or Fire Bowl (with torched salmon), or build your own bowl.

Poke is a traditional Hawaiian dish made up of diced raw fish, and you’ll typically find poke bowls infused with Japanese flavours and ingredients at restaurants in Canada.

LOCATION: 908A Centre St N, Calgary, AB

Sweet & Spicy BBQ and K-TOWN Signature Korean fried chicken from K Town Fried Chicken in Calgary, Alberta

K Town Fried Chicken

If you love fried chicken, you’ll love Korean fried chicken even more.

K Town Fried Chicken marinates their fresh chicken for 12 hours each day using 12 secret ingredients, and all of their sauces are made in-house.

A full order of chicken is enough for two to share, or you can get a half order for one person.

Definitely go for their Sweet & Spicy BBQ – it’s delicious, and comes with deep-fried rice cakes.

LOCATION: 919 Centre St NW, Calgary, AB
