I’ve never been much of an antique or vintage shopper, but after visiting the Aberfoyle Antique Market in Guelph last weekend, my life has been forever changed.
The Aberfoyle Antique Market is a weekly event that happens from spring through fall, and you can shop all kinds of vintage and antique goodies.
Whether you’re looking for statement furniture pieces or fun knick knacks, you’ll find plenty of awesome stuff at the market.

Visiting the Aberfoyle Antique Market
We arrived at the market right for 8 AM, and the fall weather was perfect for outdoor shopping – not too hot and not too cold.
The Aberfoyle Antique Market is Canada’s oldest antique market, and it’s been around since 1961.
With over 100 vendors to explore, we didn’t get a chance to look at every single one, but you can bet I’ll be making many more trips to Aberfoyle and other antique markets in the future!
There were so many beautiful vintage pieces and cool antique items hidden away in every corner – I wanted to take home so many things.
The one thing about living in a tiny downtown Toronto condo is the lack of space for any sort of decoration or storage.
How adorable would it be to have a little corner adorned with a stack of vintage trunks, topped with a glass of some fresh flowers?!
A girl can dream, I guess.

These vintage radios were so freaking cool – some of them are still working!

Does anyone remember the Cabbage Patch Kids?
I don’t really, but according to my parents, I used to love them as a toddler.
We also saw some Beanie Babies and Happy Meal toys, and it was funny seeing stuff from our childhoods!

As we wanted to head off to Hamilton in the afternoon to shoot photos afterwards, we didn’t get to see many clothes, but we saw some pretty cool pieces.
The only vintage piece of clothing I have is an ugly Christmas sweater from the Black Market, and I’d definitely love to up that number.
There are also tons of awesome Toronto vintage clothing stores worth checking out if you’re in the city!

Another awesome thing about the market is that it’s totally Instagrammable…
Which is also very important, right?

I ended up going home with a vintage Timex watch that cost me $10, which I’m absolutely in love with!
I don’t plan on replacing the battery – I think it adds to the old time-y feel.
Actually, I never replace any of my watch batteries when they run out.
#LazyPeopleProblems?

The Aberfoyle Antique Market is pretty huge, so it was a little bit overwhelming walking around for the first time.
Now that I know what I’m up against, I’ll definitely be looking around for more specific things on my next visit!
While I don’t plan on transforming everything I have into vintage and antique pieces, I’m definitely going to start incorporating more of it into both my wardrobe and my home.
