If you’re planning a visit to Montreal, you’ll definitely love hitting up these ice cream spots, whether you’re looking for decadent soft serve or chocolate-dipped cones.

Here are some of the best ice cream spots to try in Montreal, Quebec!

Hotels in Montreal

There are plenty of great hotels in Montreal you can stay at:

  • Hotel Monville is a chic and contemporary 4-star hotel located right in the middle between downtown and the Old Port.
  • Hotel Omni Mont-Royal is a beautiful 4-star hotel with an incredible rooftop terrace and pool, and it’s located near Mount Royal Park.
  • Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth is a luxurious 4-star hotel that’s located right downtown by the Bell Centre. Fun fact: John Lennon & Yoko Ono recorded “Give Peace a Chance” in one of the suites here, and you can stay in it!

“Ca Lem” means ice cream in Vietnamese, and you’ll find plenty of delicious Asian-inspired flavours at this artisanal ice cream shop in Montreal.

Choose between flavours like Café Viet (Vietnamese coffee), Sésame Noir & Charbon (black sesame and charcoal), or Matcha Crème Brulée.

They’ve also got a selection of sorbet, which is naturally vegan, with flavours like Fraise-Litchi (strawberry lychee) and Citron Yuzu (yuzu citrus).

They also have a changing soft serve menu, with options like Taro & Pandan-Coco and Red Velvet Cheesecake!

Grab a scoop in-store, or take a pint home with you at one of their 5 locations in Montreal.

Kem CoBa

Kem CoBa offers up some of the best ice cream in Montreal, and they only open from April through September.

This colourful ice cream spot in Montreal is known for their seasonal and inventive soft serve flavours, including their past Apple-Pear and Cinnamon twist and Blueberry-Honey twist!

They’ve also got ice cream and sorbet if you’re feeling those instead.

They’ve got two locations in Montreal, with one in the Plateau and one in the east end.

Le Blueboy

This seasonal soft serve ice cream shop makes flavours with a Latin American twist, including past flavours like Piña Colada-Mojito and Tiger’s Blood-Mangue.

Their epic desserts feature soft serve with all kinds of toppings, and you’ll definitely want to try their famous watermelon and pineapple bowls!

Their space is is also super cute with all the quirky and tropical vibes.

Unicone

Unicone offers up a variety of creative and globally-inspired ice cream flavours.

Try their Baklava ice cream with pieces of baklava, pistachio, and rose water, or go for their Ras Malai with rose water, saffron, cardamom, cottage cheese ice cream, and nuts.

You can also opt for their lactose-free soft serve, perfect for my fellow lactose-intolerant homies.

Their shop is also absolutely adorable, with a fun neon sign and plenty of pops of pink decor everywhere!

They open from March through December, and they also serve up cookies and unique drinks.

Iconoglace

This small artisanal ice cream shop in Montreal offers up soft serve, sundaes, and kombucha floats.

They also have tons of vegan options for any of my plant-based friends!

They’ve got a limited amount of seating inside their shop, and you can visit them from April through October.

Crèmerie Dalla Rose

Crèmerie Dalla Rose is another amazing ice cream spot in Montreal, and they’re actually open year-round!

Go for their Espresso or Fraise du Québec (Quebec strawberry) ice cream flavours, and sandwich them between their house-made cookies.

They also offer sorbet flavours if you’re looking for vegan options.

If you buy their pints, you can bring back the empty jars and they’ll give you a dollar back – which you can use to buy more ice cream 😛

Ripples

Ripples has been serving up ice cream, sorbet, and frozen yogurt in Montreal for almost four decades.

Enjoy some of their unique ice cream flavours like Kulfi or Lychee, or go for the epic 6x Chocolate.

They’ve got two locations you can visit from April to September – one in the Mile End and one in the Plateau neighbourhood!

Hoche Glacé

This cute dessert shop serves up all kinds of sweet treats, from soft serve, to frozen yogurt, to milkshakes.

They’re known for having a great selection of vegan options, including vegan soft serve.

They even have an adorable ice cream sandwich for your doggo friends – it features soft vanilla ice cream between two cookies!

You can find them in the Hochelaga neighbourhood of Montreal.

Dipped ice cream cones at Chocolat Favoris, Montreal, Quebec

Chocolats Favoris

Chocolats Favoris serves up amazing chocolate-dipped ice cream cones.

You can choose from multiple chocolate dips and soft serve options – it’s the perfect ice cream spot in Montreal for any sweet tooth!

They’ve got signature dipped cones like the Strawberry Shortcake, Cotton Candy, and Cookies & Cream, or you can customize your own ice cream cone.

Originally from Quebec City, they’ve been around for over 40 years, and they’ve got tons of locations across Quebec!

They’ve also got several locations across Canada, including in Vaughan and Newmarket in Ontario.

La Diperie

Similar to Chocolats Favoris, La Diperie serves up dipped cones in over 30 different Belgian chocolate flavours.

The main differences here are that you can pick all of your toppings, and the soft serve only comes in vanilla!

You can also find other desserts such as milkshakes, cakes, and more!

They’re native to Montreal, but they’ve now got plenty of locations across Canada.

    There is one well kept secret, a family owned ice cream shop nestled amidst the Dorval community… Friendlt staff and amazing ice-cream and desserts: Bar Laitier Nonna on Dumont street! (475 Dumont, Dorval)
