We’re so lucky to have such a diverse and multicultural food scene here in Toronto, and you’ll find plenty of fantastic dim sum restaurants all across the GTA.

If you haven’t had dim sum before, it’s a type of Cantonese cuisine where family-style shareables are served in steamer baskets or small plates.

It’s typically eaten in the morning or during brunch hours, though a lot of Toronto restaurants serve dim sum all day.

Because everyone shares all the same dishes, it’s a fun way to dine with your friends or family!

Whether you’re a lover of siu mai or steamed chicken feet, there’s something for everyone at these dim sum restaurants in Toronto.

Rol San Dim Sum Restaurant in Toronto

Rol San Restaurant

I’ve been going to Rol San since I was a baby, and it’s one of my favourite dim sum restaurants in Toronto.

Their Chicken Feet in Chef’s Sauce and Deep Fried Squid Tentacles are so dang delicious, and so is everything else on their menu.

Come with some friends so you can order a bunch of different dishes to try.

This bustling dim sum restaurant is located right in the heart of Chinatown, and they serve all-day dim sum ’til late.

They open everyday from 10 AM to midnight, but they close at 3 AM on Fridays and Saturdays.

They actually very recently moved down the street from the location they were at for almost 30 years!

LOCATION: 388 Spadina Ave, Toronto, ON


Ha Gow Dim Sum House

Dim sum is served at this casual Chinese eatery on the Danforth.

They don’t have a particularly large dim sum menu, but they’ve got staples like Pork Siu Mai, Beef Tripe, and Fried Squid.

They even have a Dim Sum Combo that comes with a variety of har gow, siu mai, spring rolls, sticky rice, dumplings, and wontons.

Take note that they only accept cash, so don’t forget to hit up an ATM before visiting!

Dine & Dim

This beautiful East Chinatown spot serves up dim sum and Chinese dishes.

Aside from your classic dim sum faves, they’ve got sizzling plates, stir-fry dishes, and even lobster in a few staple Cantonese styles, including ginger onion and Maggi.

With banquette seating and industrial hanging lights, it’s more modern than your typical dim sum restaurant in Toronto!

They also have a karaoke bar on the second floor of the restaurant.

They’re actually located in the former home of Pearl Court, an iconic Chinese restaurant of 60 years!

Rosewood Asian Cuisine

Enjoy all-day dim sum and other Cantonese staples in this modern, two-storey restaurant in Chinatown.

Order a la carte or opt for their all-you-can-eat dim sum menu, where you’ll find dishes like their Shrimp Paste on Egg Tofu, Five Spice Beef Tendon, and Shanghai Soup Dumplings.

Definitely make a reservation for the upper level mezzanine if you can!

They also open from 10 AM to 3 AM every single day (perfect if you’re looking for a late-night spot), and on weekends they open at 9 AM.

Sue Fung’s Dim Sum Canteen

Seasonally-inspired dim sum is what you’ll find at this modern dim sum restaurant by Kensington Market.

You’ll find unique dim sum dishes like their Matcha Soup Dumplings and their Baked Whole Abalone Tart w/ Minced Pork.

They operate as a fast-casual restaurant, so you order at the counter, then enjoy your dishes in their aesthetically-pleasing space!

August 8

If you’re looking for all-you-can-eat dim sum, you’ll find it at August 8 in Chinatown, and they also offer AYCE sushi!

The dim sum menu features classic favourites like Steamed Pork Shiu Mai and Chicken Feet with Black Bean Sauce, while the sushi menu includes fun options like torched sushi and sushi tacos.

They’re actually originally from Hamilton, and they also have several locations in the western part of the GTA!

Yan Yu

Enjoy traditional Sichuan dishes and dim sum at this hidden North York spot.

They don’t have a huge selection of dim sum here, but they’ve got staples like Har Gow, Steamed Siu Mai, and Chicken Feet.

They’re located near where the DVP and 401 intersect, and they also validate your parking here for 4 hours, which is nice!

Tak Fu Seafood Restaurant

This hole-in-the-wall Scarborough spot offers all the dim sum classics.

You’ll find all the staples like Steamed Spare Ribs, Baby Squid with Curry Sauce, and Steamed Rice Noodle Rolls.

Note that they charge $1 per person for tea, and they only accept cash or debit!

The Pearl Harbourfront has been a waterfront staple since the ’80s, and they serve up delicious dim sum and upscale Chinese cuisine.

Must-try dishes include their Rainbow Chopped in Crystal Fold (basically Chinese lettuce wraps), Peking Duck (the pancakes are amaze), and Braised Lobster or Crab.

Moon Palace Cantonese Cuisine

Moon Palace serves up upscale Cantonese cuisine, seafood dishes, and dim sum at their restaurant by Yonge & Dundas.

Enjoy seafood-focused dim sum dishes like Lobster Meat Rice Noodle Rolls, Lobster Congee, or XO Sauce Scallop & Shrimp Dumplings.

Or, order classics like Pork Spare Ribs in Garlic and Black Bean Sauce, Baby Octopus in Curry Sauce, or Deep Fried Squid Tentacles!

They source their seafood directly from the East Coast for the freshest quality.
