Rick’s Good Eats

You’ll find more than just good eats at Rick’s, which serves up epic Canadian-Punjabi fusion dishes in Mississauga.

Everything at this family-run shop is handmade with fresh ingredients, from their Punjabi Cheeseburger to their Butter Chicken Mac ‘N’ Cheese.

They even have frozen dishes you can heat and eat yourself at home, including their Shahi Paneer Lasagna and Makhani Marinara.

Pho Ngoc Yen Restaurant

Pho Ngoc Yen is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the GTA, and they’re located in Mississauga.

This family-owned and operated restaurant serves up Southern Vietnamese dishes you won’t find anywhere else in the city.

Enjoy unique dishes like their Bun Cha Oc Buou & Oc Xa Cu (escargot noodle soup) or their Bun Nghe Ca Nuc Can Tho (crispy mackerel noodle soup).

They’ve also got plenty of pho and vermicelli noodle options if you’re in the mood for those, as well as a good amount of vegetarian options.

The interior of their restaurant is also lovely, with plenty of greenery and ambient lighting!

Katsuya Restaurant

Katsuya

Katsuya serves up incredibly crispy and delicious Japanese tonkatsu in a variety of signature sauces.

If you haven’t had katsu before, it’s a Japanese dish made up of breaded and deep fried meat, and tonkatsu is deep fried pork cutlet.

My fave is the Curry Katsu, but any of their katsu options will definitely satisfy your tastebuds.

You can even have your katsu stuffed with cheese, and it is sooo delicious. Artery clogging, maybe, but definitely delicious.

The interior of their Mississauga location is also super cute, with hanging lights and sliced logs as wall artwork!

Daldongnae

Daldongnae is one of Toronto’s best spots for authentic Korean BBQ, where you get to grill meats yourself.

Everything on the menu is a la carte, and they’ve got various pork and beef cuts, including pork belly and beef boneless short ribs!

They have 8 locations across the GTA, and you can find their Mississauga location at the picturesque Mississauga Chinese Centre.

Gyubee Japanese Grill

You’ve probably had Korean BBQ before, but have you ever tried Japanese BBQ?

Gyubee is an all-you-can-eat Japanese barbecue spot with several locations across the GTA, including one in Mississauga.

From Miso Pork Belly to Sake Steamed Clam, they’ve got all kinds of delicious dishes you can grill up!

Goodfellas Wood Oven Pizza

If you’re a pizza lover, you absolutely need to stop into this upscale pizza joint in Mississauga.

They offer up authentic Neapolitan-style wood oven made with fresh and imported ingredients alongside exclusive Italian wines.

From their classic Margherita to their spicy Diavola pizza, they’ve got a variety of delicious options to choose from.

All of their pizzas can be made gluten-free, and you can add dairy-free cheese for an additional fee.

If you have kiddos under 12, they actually eat free if you spend $80 before tax, and you can find the rest of the conditions on Goodfellas’ website.

They actually have 7 locations across the GTA, including two locations in Mississauga!

Enjoy traditional Afghan dishes at this chic spot in Mississauga with cozy booth seating and fun globe lights.

Their family platters or couple’s combos are perfect for sharing, and they all come with a selection of meats and sides.

If you’re not up for sharing, you can also grab one of their rice plates or wraps, or grab their Appetizer Share Platter instead!

Door FiftyFive

Hit up this cool, industrial-inspired restaurant and bar in Mississauga for Southern-inspired fare and a fantastic selection of drinks.

The Platter is perfect for sharing, and comes with a variety of house-smoked meats, cornbread, mac and cheese, thyme fries, and coleslaw.

For drinks, you’ll find an extensive selection of signature cocktails, beer, and wine, as well as an epic selection of whiskies and spirits from around the world.

They even do whiskey flights, including their High Roller flight, which features rare and elegant whiskies from Canada to Japan.

They even make a nod to Prohibition with their use of reclaimed wood and old whiskey barrels in their space, which is really fun!

I know Scaddabush is a chain now, but I absolutely loved them when they first opened up in Toronto while I was in university.

I still think they have incredible food – their 3-Cheese Truffle Charity Bread and Straight Up Meatball are both amazing!

They’re no longer at Yonge & Gerrard, but they have a bunch of locations across the GTA, including one inside Square One.

I adore the high ceilings, exposed brick, and quirky vintage artwork at their Square One restaurant!

Capra’s Kitchen

Enjoy Mediterranean and Italian eats in Capra’s cool, industrial-chic space.

You’ll find a wide array of delicious pastas and pizzas, and they’ve even got gluten-free options available.

For dessert, grab their Chocolate Charcuterie Board for 2, which is perfect for my fellow chocolate lovers!

Stop in on the weekend to enjoy their brunch menu, which features dishes like their Porchetta Benny and their Ricotta Pancake.

Twin Fish

Get your fix of Thai cuisine at this upscale restaurant that prepares everything fresh-to-order.

From their South Thai Lamb Curry with New Zealand lamb shank to their Red Snapper Fillet with Basil Sauce, you’ll find a variety of decadent Thai dishes on the menu.

Twin Fish is actually Vietnamese-owned, and you’ll find some great lunch specials, including pho (Vietnamese noodle soup) and rice dishes.

They’ve also got a second location in Etobicoke!

Piatto

La Castile

This glamorous steakhouse has been a staple in Mississauga for over 50 years, and you’ll find tons of steak and seafood dishes on the menu.

Their steaks are all deliciously charbroiled to perfection, and you can choose from cuts like T-Bone Steak and Filet Mignon (wrapped in bacon!)

Their Chateaubriand for Two (filet mignon), Seafood Platter for Two, and La Castile’s Platter for Two (filet mignon plus seafood) are all perfect for sharing on a romantic date night.
