Looking to shop from or sell things to consignment stores in Toronto?

If you don’t exactly know what a consignment store is, it’s basically a shop that buys and sells secondhand clothing.

There are consignment shops that have all kinds of brands like Forever 21 and Aritzia, and there are consignment shops that specifically only sell luxury brands like Chanel and Louis Vuitton.

I’m personally not much of a luxury shopper, but I know plenty of people are, and there are plenty of high-end consignment shops in Toronto.

Here are some of the best consignment stores in Toronto to buy or sell clothing at!

Best consignment stores in Toronto

Common Sort, Toronto

Common Sort

Common Sort has one of the best curated selections of secondhand pieces in Toronto, which is probably because they’re super picky with what they buy.

They have all kinds of trendy pieces from brands like Topshop and Aritzia, as well as some awesome vintage clothing pieces.

I love that they feature pieces in styled outfits on their Instagram page, where you can also place things on hold (you have to pickup on the same day).

They have 3 locations at Riverside, Parkdale, and the Annex, though I’ve personally only been to the Riverside location.

Be wary that the wait time while they price your items can take a long time, so plan ahead!

If you’re stopping into the Annex location, hit up one of the best Annex restaurants while you wait!

How to sell: Bring your gently-used clothes (by appointment only), have them review your items, then get 50% of the value in store credit or 25% in cash on the spot.

Plato's Closet consignment store in Richmond Hill, Ontario

Plato’s Closet

Plato’s Closet also has a very curated selection of trendy clothes from brands like H&M, Topshop, Zara, and Aritzia.

They have over two dozen locations across Ontario, but I’ve personally only been to the one in Richmond Hill!

Their only downtown location is by the Junction neighbourhood by Jane & St. Clair.

They’re a US-based company, but all their stores in Canada are individually owned and operated by local business owners.

How to sell: Bring your gently-used brand-name clothes, have them review your items, then get paid cash on the spot for your items.

If no one purchases your pieces when your selling period ends, you have the option to take the clothes back or have them donated, and they donate to an amazing charity called Thrift on Kent.
