8 Best Craft Breweries in Toronto

8 Best Craft Breweries in Toronto

In the mood to sip on some brews at the best craft breweries in Toronto?

I usually enjoy having a good drink with my meals, and beer is definitely my drink of choice.

Adam and I also try to hit up at least one local craft brewery in every new city we visit – it’s one of our favourite activities to do when we travel!

We even tried poop-smoked whale testicle beer while we were in Iceland (it was just fine if you were wondering lol).

Here are some of the best craft breweries you need to check out in Toronto!

And if you’re in the mood to do a little brewery tour, you can do this fun guided craft brewery tour that takes you to 3 breweries in Toronto’s west end!

Best craft breweries in Toronto

Drinking Ace Hill vodka soda while wearing Aritzia straw hat, American Apparel red crop top, and Levi's white balloon pants

Ace Hill

Not only is Ace Hill’s packaging super cute – their drinks are amazing as well.

They have beers, vodka sodas, and radlers, mostly 100 calories or less!

I personally adore their vodka sodas, and they’re definitely some of the best in the market – they come in Raspberry, Lemon, and Strawberry Grapefruit.

They also donate 1% of all sales to environmental causes, which I think is incredible!

LOCATION: Unit 110, 140 Geary Avenue, Toronto, ON

Northern Maverick Brewing in Toronto, Ontario

Northern Maverick Brewing Co.

Northern Maverick is one of my fave craft breweries in Toronto, and they also have incredible food at their restaurant on King West.

The brewery is housed in an 11,000 square foot facility, and the restaurant seats 400 people!

Enjoy your craft beer with freshly-shucked oysters and house-cured meats, and be sure to pick up a 6-pack at the shop on your way out.

The founder grew up in the restaurant industry and started home brewing in his 20s, and that’s how Northern Maverick was born!

You can find Northern Maverick near King and Bathurst in the King West neighbourhood.

LOCATION: 115 Bathurst St, Toronto, ON

Bellwoods Brewery

Bellwoods Brewery started out as a small brewpub in the west end of the city, and now they’re known as one of the best craft breweries in Toronto.

They’ve got a pretty large selection of all kinds of different brews, and their Jelly King sour ales are pretty great!

You can find their bottle shops both on Ossington and in North York.

LOCATION: Various locations

Lost Craft

Lost Craft is another popular local craft brewery in Toronto, and they’ve also got a wide variety of different kinds of craft beers.

The founder left his career in finance to follow his dreams of opening a craft brewery, and he even traveled to different breweries across Europe to get inspired.

I’ll be honest: it’s the cool packaging that got me first, but their drinks are amazing!

Junction Craft Brewing

Junction Craft Brewing is a craft brewery in Toronto’s Junction neighbourhood.

Their brewery is housed in a former City of Toronto incinerator from the 1930s, which was decommissioned in the 80s and became a spot for raves in the 90s.

You can do a brewery tour or enjoy one of their fresh craft beers in the taproom!

They offer free delivery around Ontario, and you can even get free same-day delivery in Toronto.

This Junction food tour is the perfect activity to get you pumped before grabbing a drink here!

LOCATION: 150 Symes Rd, Toronto, ON

Kensington Brewing Company

Kensington Brewing Company is a microbrewery located in the Kensington Market neighbourhood of Toronto.

They have a patio out front for you to enjoy their craft beers and seltzers, and you can also get free local delivery in Toronto!

If you love fruity drinks, you’ll adore their Watermelon Ale with Hibiscus Flowers.

LOCATION: 299 Augusta Ave, Toronto, ON

Burdock Brewery

Burdock combines wine and beer to make beautiful, fruity hybrids.

They source local Ontario fruit, and they age their beers using leftover grape skins!

They have a limited menu made up of snacks to pair alongside their beers, including options like Shishitos, Scallop Crudo, and Beef Tartare.

You can also enjoy brunch on weekends, with classic breakfast dishes like French Toast and Eggs Benedict.

Their Bloordale space includes a brewery, restaurant, and a music hall, and they’ve even got a chic patio to enjoy your freshly-brewed beer.

They’ve also got a beer shop you can visit in Kensington Market!

LOCATION: 1184 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON

Steam Whistle Brewing

Of course, we can’t forget Steam Whistle, one of the most iconic craft breweries in Toronto!

Steam Whistle was founded by three friends back in the late 90’s, and it’s one of the top craft breweries in all of Canada.

They brew their craft beer at their Roundhouse Park location, and their pilsner is only made with 4 natural ingredients!

It’s also a tourist hotspot (next to the CN Tower), as well as a popular spot for weddings.

LOCATION: The Roundhouse, 255 Bremner Blvd, Toronto, ON
