The Best Hashtags for Travel Photos in Canada

If you’re planning a visit to any provinces or territories in Canada, you’re gonna want to use the best hashtags to get your photos seen on Instagram!

While I haven’t been to every province and territory yet myself, I’ve compiled popular hashtags and accounts for each one.

Take note that some of these hashtags may be associated with tourism boards, and if you use them, they may take it as permission to repost your photo.

I’ve put the official tourism board hashtags beside their accounts to make it easier for you!

Here are over 300 of some of the best hashtags for Canada travel posts.

Tips on finding the best Canada travel hashtags

Use the related hashtags section

Every time you search a hashtag on Instagram, it shows you related hashtags underneath.

All or most of these hashtags will be good ones because they’re popularly used.

Just take a quick look at each one, because a general search like “Newfoundland” will show you photos of dogs rather than of the province.

Another great thing about using this method is that you might stumble across some cool Instagrammable spots where you’re going!

Use hashtags from tourism boards

Many popular tourist destinations have their own Instagram accounts.

A lot of them want you to post about their destination, so most of the time they’ll include a designated hashtag on their profile.

These are great hashtags for getting discovered and potentially reposted by the tourism boards!

Look through hashtags from locals

If I’m having trouble finding local hashtags or I want to find a bunch at once, I search for locals.

Bloggers are more likely to use a variety of hashtags than other people, so you’ll want to find local bloggers.

The best way to do this is by searching the city and “blogger” as a hashtag.

For example, #montrealblogger or #torontoblogger.

Then, you can take a peek at the hashtags they use on their photos!
