7 Best Things to Do in Vaughan

Searching for the best and most fun things to do in Vaughan?

I grew up going to Vaughan specifically for Canada’s Wonderland and Vaughan Mills, and the city’s changed a lot since then!

Vaughan is the 5th largest city in the GTA, and it’s only going to get bigger and better with all the condos being built around the new TTC subway stations.

And what does that mean? More cool activities, more fun things to do, and more great food spots!

Without further ado, here are some of the most fun activities and things to do in Vaughan, Ontario!

Be sure to also follow me on Instagram and TikTok – I share a lot more content on those platforms that don’t make it to the blog!

If you’re looking for an affordable breakfast spot to visit in Vaughan, you need to stop into IKEA.

They open at 10 AM every single day and offer a filling breakfast plate for just $4.

Choose between either sausage or bacon in the Traditional Breakfast, which also comes with scrambled eggs, potatoes, and toast.

Go axe throwing at BATL

If you’re looking for even more exciting things to do in Vaughan, axe throwing should be on your list.

I did it for the first time at their North York location years ago, and it was so much more fun than I thought it would be!

BATL has different axe throwing packages you can choose from depending on your group size and whether you’d like to throw casually or get competitive.

They’ve also got a fully-licensed bar with local craft beers and wines, and you can bring your own food – perfect excuse to order pizza delivery!

BATL has multiple locations across the GTA, and their Vaughan location is at Steeles & Dufferin.

LOCATION: 1600 Steeles Ave W Unit 12, Concord, ON

Vaughan Mills

Shop at Vaughan Mills

Vaughan Mills is one of Toronto’s best shopping destinations, and they actually have a shuttle bus to and from Union Station during the summer and holiday months.

It’s an outlet mall, though they do have a lot of regular stores like Aritzia and UNIQLO.

They’ve also got a ton of great food and dessert spots within the mall, including Blaze Pizza (an American fast-casual pizza chain) and iHalo Krunch (one of Toronto’s best ice cream spots).

Just outside of the mall, there are also plenty of awesome restaurants and takeout spots you can eat at!

One of my fave things about Vaughan Mills is that the whole mall is a loop, so it’s easy to walk through and shop the whole mall.

Canada's Wonderland in Vaughan, Ontario

Go on rides at Canada’s Wonderland

Canada’s Wonderland is definitely the number one reason why people visit Vaughan, so of course we have to include it!

They’ve got all kinds of different rides for adventure seekers and more chill peeps, and I’m definitely more of a thrill-seeking gal.

My favourite rides are the Behemoth, Drop Tower, and Sledge Hammer!

They’ve also got the Splash Works water park, perfect for if you’re visiting Wonderland on a super hot day.

If you can brave it out, definitely check out Halloween Haunt, which takes over Wonderland every October.

I’ve gone to Halloween Haunt twice in my life, and it definitely ain’t for me (though I do love watching horror movies).

They also now have WinterFest every holiday season, which turns Wonderland into a magical winter wonderland!

Wonderland also has fireworks on select holidays during the year.

Like a lot of kids in the GTA, I grew up going to Wonderland, and I have so many fond memories with my friends and family!

Visit the Woodbridge Village Farmers’ Market

If you’re into farmers’ markets, definitely check out the Woodbridge Village Farmers’ Market.

You’ll find everything from locally-poured candles, to locally-cured meats, to freshly-baked pastries.

They also have special themed days, like Strawberry Day, Italian Day, and Craft Market days featuring local artisans!

You can check out the market at the Woodbridge Memorial Arena in Vaughan, and it happens every Saturday from mid-June through early October.

LOCATION: 5020 Hwy 7, Vaughan, ON

Watch a film at the Vaughan Film Festival

If you’re a big film buff, check out the Vaughan Film Festival happening from June 19th to 22nd, 2023.

They’ll be showcasing high school short films from local Ontario students, as well as international short films.

You can snag your tickets to the festival online, and all the events will be at various venues around Vaughan.

Sugarbush Heritage Park in Thornhill Woods, Vaughan, Ontario

Go for a walk at Sugarbush Heritage Park

Sugarbush is a beautiful and quiet little forest right in the Thornhill Woods neighbourhood.

It’s a lovely spot to go for an easy hike, whether you’re visiting during the warmer or colder months.

Sugarbush is stunning all year round, but it’s especially beautiful when the trees are coated in fall colours!

I love how it’s like a little nature escape right in the middle of the suburbs.
