Best takeout spots in Scarborough
Patty King
This beloved patty shop in Scarborough serves up traditional Jamaican patties and dishes like Jerk chicken.
You can take your pick between mild or spicy beef, chicken, or vegetable patties.
Take note that all of their patties contain beef suet, so the veggie one isn’t vegetarian!
They also only accept cash, so be sure to have some on-hand.
This family-owned business has been in operation since 1981 – over 40 years!

One2Snacks
Enjoy authentic Malaysian comfort foods at this little family-owned takeout shop in Scarborough.
Definitely go for the Char Kway Teow or Curry Laksa, and feel free to grab the Curry Puffs if you want an appetizer.
If you visit on a weekend, you can also enjoy some of their authentic Malaysian desserts!
You can find One2Snacks right by Midland & Sheppard.
LOCATION: 8 Glen Watford Dr #26, Scarborough, ON
Chris Jerk Caribbean Bistro
If you’ve got a craving for authentic Caribbean cuisine, you’ll want to stop into Chris Jerk.
They serve up some of the best jerk chicken in Toronto, and their jerk chicken shawarma is really what makes this spot so unique.
The shawarma is marinated in jerk spices and cooked on a rotisserie grill, and it’s truly heavenly.
You can enjoy the jerk chicken shawarma as a meal with rice and sides, as a wrap, in a poutine, or in a salad!
You can find Chris Jerk just north of Birchmount & Finch.

Mona’s Roti-Caribbean Food
This beloved Scarborough spot serves up some of the best roti in Toronto.
You can choose between dahlpuri roti (with split peas) or paratha roti (plain), then choose your veggie, protein, and spiciness.
Go for a classic Curry Chicken or Curry Goat filling, or something different like Fry Cod Fish or Curry Duck!

Butter Chicken Roti
Roti is a heavenly dish made up of curry stuffed inside a roti (Indian flatbread) wrap, and you absolutely need to try it at Butter Chicken Roti.
This local Indian fast-casual chain serves up delicious roti at their many locations across the GTA, including in Scarborough.
They’ve got tons of different roti options for both meat eaters and vegetarians, and you can add some additional toppings if you want.
Their Butter Chicken Roti is their signature, and it’s v delicious.
You can even choose your spiciness on 6 different levels, ranging from mild to nuclear hot (hot AKA the third spiciness level is perfect for me).
You can also find some Indian street food dishes like Panipuri and Aloo Tikki Chaat!

Shawarma Empire
If you’re in the mood for shawarma, Shawarma Empire serves up incredible shawarmas and Middle Eastern street foods in Scarborough.
You can choose between beef or chicken shawarma, and they’ve also got falafel.
Everything they serve in the restaurant is made in-house, which is really awesome!
This unassuming hotspot for Middle Eastern eats is located near Lawrence & Victoria Park.
Afterwards, head to Kunafa’s in the next plaza over for dessert and grab a heavenly slice of Kunafa (a deliciously cheesy pastry) or Baklava!

The Kabob Guys
This casual takeout spot in Scarborough serves up charcoal-grilled Afghan kabobs.
They’ve got plenty of Afghan-style dinner plate options, all of which come with brown basmati rice, mixed green salad, naan, and sauces!
You’ll find classic kabob plates like Tandoori Breast and Shish Kofta, alongside more unique options like their Grilled Salmon and Eggplant Zucchini.
They also have celebration platters with kabobs and sides that are perfect for 4-5 people!
They even sell their hot sauce and white sauce so you can take it home with you.

The Suya Spot
If you’ve never had African BBQ before, prepare to be in heaven.
This local West African restaurant chain in Toronto is well-known for its amazing suya, which is a traditional street food dish made up of a smoked and spiced meat skewer.
Order their Assorted Suya, which comes with an assortment of meats and organs!
You can also enjoy their suya in sandwiches, wraps, or on plates.
And if you’re in the mood for an appetizer, definitely grab the Fried Ripe Plantain or Fried Yam!
The Suya Spot has several locations across the GTA, including in downtown Toronto, North York, and Mississauga.

SumiLicious Smoked Meat & Deli
Smoked meat is what SumiLicious does best, and they use their own signature blend of spices and smoke their meats for hours to get the perfect amount of flavour.
The owner of the restaurant actually spent two decades working at the famous Schwartz’s in Montreal!
Enjoy their mouthwatering smoked meat in a sandwich, on a plate, or in a poutine.
They also have some halal options, including their smoked meat, chicken, and steak items.
SumiLicious actually received a Bib Gourmand recommendation on the 2022 Michelin Guide for Toronto, which is really cool!

The Real McCoy
Can’t decide between burgers or pizza? The Real McCoy serves up delicious burgers and pizza, and this family-owned business has been in operation for over 50 years.
They’re known for their famous MOJO Burger, but they’ve got plenty of other options like their Steak on a Kaiser and Fish & Chips.
They even cut and fry their own fries for their fries and poutines!
You can find The Real McCoy on Markham Road, just south of the 401.

Lamanna’s Bakery
You might know Lamanna’s for some of their more eccentric creations like their massive pizza slices and dessert pizzas, but they’ve truly got some dang delicious pizza.
This authentic Italian bakery and pizzeria serves up generations of family recipes mixed with more contemporary ideas, and you’ll find everything from freshly-baked pizzas, to cakes, to cannolis!
They’ve even got gelato if you’re looking to enjoy a cold treat post-pizza.
It’s very much a takeout shop, but there is a small amount of seating if you’re looking to dine in!
You can find ’em along Kingston Road by Kingston & Sheppard.

Chickaron
Have you ever had rainbow fried chicken? Yep, you heard that right – rainbow 🌈🍗.
Chickaron serves up deliciously juicy fried chicken in 8 authentic Taiwanese flavours, and every single flavour is made using natural colours!
Tomato, purple yam, cuttlefish, and monascus are my fave of their fried chicken flavours, and you can also enjoy their matcha, turmeric, roselle, and gardenia flavours.
They use Canadian farm-raised chicken, and all of their chicken is fried to order!
Order the chicken fries to try one of each of the flavours, or order one of their massive chicken cutlets in any of the flavours!
You can even add spice if you’re lookin’ for a little heat.

100 Percent Korean
Korean comfort foods are what you’ll find at this tiny takeout shop in Scarborough.
From Pork Bone Soup to Bibimbap, they’ve got plenty of delicious options to choose from.
They’ve even got a selection of special combos for two for just $26.95 plus tax, which is a fantastic deal!
You can find this spot at Midland & Steeles, just around the corner from Pacific Mall.
