7 Best Clothing Rental Companies in Canada

Whether you’re looking for dress or clothing rental services in Canada, it’s a much more sustainable option than buying clothes brand new.

Especially when it comes to special events when you buy a dress just to wear once!

Because let’s face it: you’re likely not going to wear that $100 dress to more than one wedding.

It can be a little pricy to rent outfits, but the benefit is having an endless wardrobe to choose from and helping to keep clothes out of the landfill!

If you’re looking to make more sustainable fashion choices, renting clothes is one of the best ways to do it.

If you’re looking for where to rent dresses and clothes in Toronto, here are the best clothing rental companies to rent from across Canada!

Be sure to also follow me on Instagram and TikTok – I share a lot more content on those platforms that don’t make it to the blog!

Fitzroy Rentals

If you’re looking for dreamy dresses galore for your next fancy occasion, stop by Fitzroy Rentals here in Toronto.

They carry a bunch of different luxury dress brands, and they have new stuff coming in every week.

Some designers they carry that I love are For Love & Lemons, Allen Schwartz, and Reformation!

Their store location is a few minutes away from the Bloor GO Station if you’re taking GO Transit or the UP Express.

If you’re not in Toronto, they also ship across Canada – $29 shipping within Ontario and $39 to all other provinces!

Beyond the Runway

Beyond the Runway is a one-stop shop for all your clothing rental needs in Canada, and it’s a lot more affordable than other rental companies!

This Montreal-based company ships all across Canada, and some of the brands they carry that I love are For Love & Lemons, Free People, and The East Order.

The silver membership is $129/month, which allows you to rent up to 4 items and keep items for up to 6 months.

The gold membership is $169/month and offers the same perks as the silver, except you can swap your items an unlimited amount of times throughout the month!

You can also do a one-time rental for 5 or 10 days starting at $80, and the rates depend on the value of the items and the period you rent them.

LOCATION: 9805 Boul. Leduc, Unit 202, Brossard, QC

Rentesthetic

Rentesthetic offers up a stunningly curated selection of designer dress rentals, whether you’re shopping for a wedding guest dress or vacation outfit.

While they don’t have a huge selection of pieces available for rent, I love that they exclusively feature ethical and sustainable brands.

I personally love the brand Selkie, and they’ve got some of their dresses available to rent.

You can also visit their Toronto studio boutique by appointment!

LOCATION: Unit 204B, 260 Carlaw Ave, Toronto, ON

The Collective

The Collective offers a curated collection of designer pieces available to rent for any occasion.

You can rent dresses for as low as $50, with brands like Reformation and Park & Fifth.

Their rentals are delivered to your door in compostable bags and reusable boxes, which I love!

They’re also based out of Vancouver, though they don’t have a physical location.

Your Favourite Dresses

Your Favourite Dresses is a Toronto-based dress rental company, and they’ve been around since 2009!

They’ve got all kinds of gorgeous dresses, especially if you’re dressing for a formal occasion.

They don’t have a physical location here in Toronto, but they ship all across Canada.

You can choose between a 4 or 8 day rental period, and rental prices depend on the piece, with prices starting at $29.99 for a dress rental.

rax

rax is a peer-to-peer clothing rental app that’s sorta like Poshmark, except for clothing rentals.

How it works is that you browse the listings, choose the borrow period for the piece you’re interested in, then meet up in-person or have the piece shipped to you.

Plus, if you have any wardrobe pieces you’re interested in renting out yourself, you can rent it out on rax and make some extra cash for your own rentals!

You can rent for as little as 4 days for local pick-ups, or 10 days to 6 months.

Best Dressed

Best Dressed is a peer-to-peer marketplace specializing in wedding guest and bridesmaid dresses.

You’ll find a curated collection of high-end brands like Anna October, Cult Gaia, Bec + Bridge and Shona Joy.

You can also rent out your own dresses from your closet to make some extra cash!

They’re based out of Toronto and offer local Toronto pick-up or Canada-wide delivery.

Thank you for your informative post! Looks like there are way more options out there than I imagined. Have you by any chance used the Rax app yourself? I had a look at their website, but have a hard time finding out any information about them.
