Best bubble tea spots in Richmond Hill
Chatime
Chatime is one of Toronto’s most popular bubble tea chains, and they hail out of Taiwan.
I was absolutely obsessed with them when they first opened up in Toronto, and there was a time where I was visiting their Times Square location in Richmond Hill literally every single day.
Their location by Richmond Green is my fave because they’ve got a super cute neon sign and it’s a nice spot!
The Chatime Signature Milk Tea is my go-to drink, but I also love their Thai Iced Tea.
Chatime also owns the Euro-Asian bakery franchise Bake Code, and you’ll find a selection of pastries at Chatime locations.
Also a fun fact that you might not already know: Chatime is the largest tea franchise in the world!
LOCATION: Various locations
The Alley
The Alley is another global bubble tea franchise based out of Taiwan, and they’re known for their delicious handmade brown sugar pearls and Instagrammable drinks.
Their locations are super Instagram-worthy as well, and you’ll especially love it if you’re into the rustic aesthetic.
The Aurora Series drinks are pretty gradient fruit teas in glass bottles, and the Brown Sugar Deerioca is my fave drink.
Definitely check out their Alley Hub location in Richmond Hill, which is the only one if its kind in Canada.
It’s the perfect space for co-working or studying, and they even serve up blueberry coffee and food!

Palgong Tea
This wildly popular bubble tea spot in South Korea opened up shop in Toronto several years ago, and now they’ve got over a dozen locations across the GTA.
All of their teas are brewed using real tea leaves, and they’ve got unique options like their Mint Chocolate Milk Tea and their Black Sugar Milk Tea.
Their Jakeman’s Maple Milk Tea is heavenly, but definitely get it less sweet if you don’t have a big sweet tooth!
They also label whatever is lactose-free or caffeine-free on the menu, which is really nice.
“Palgong” in Korean means 80, which is what Palgong Tea says it the ideal temperature in celsius to brew teas!
LOCATION: 372 Hwy 7 Unit 115B, Richmond Hill, ON
Xing Fu Tang
Xing Fu Tang has so many delicious milk drinks and fruit teas, and I absolutely adore the Signature Brown Sugar Handmade Pearl Milk and Taro Milk.
When you go in-store, you can see the fresh and handmade brown sugar pearls in a giant metal bowl!
They import a lot of their main ingredients from Taiwan, and they make their drinks using the same formula they’ve been using for decades.
LOCATION: 550 Hwy 7 #51, Richmond Hill, ON
Machi Machi
Machi Machi’s aesthetic is absolutely adorable, and their drinks are v pretty as well.
Some of their drinks even come in cute little bottled containers that are perfect for your Instagram feed!
They’ve got some pretty unique drinks, like their Fresh Strawberry Latte with Panna Cotta (made with real strawberries).
LOCATION: 280 West Beaver Creek Rd #3, Richmond Hill, ON
TP Tea
This Taiwanese company is all about paying homage to the tea drinking culture of the Tang Dynasty, and they create blends of different tea leaves for their unique drinks.
Enjoy unique seasonal drinks like their Mint Choco Milk Tea Slush or Strawberry Green Milk Tea!
You can find their Richmond Hill location at Commerce Gate.
LOCATION: 505 Hwy 7 Unit 86, Thornhill, ON
Kung Fu Tea
Kung Fu Tea is another great Taiwanese bubble tea franchise, and they source their ingredients from Taiwan.
You’ll find a large menu made up of tea-based lattes, milk teas, fruit teas, and more.
They’ve also got Hong Kong egg waffles if you’re in the mood for a dessert to pair with your bubble tea!
You can find their Richmond Hill locations at Bayview & Weldrick or at Commerce Gate.
LOCATION: Various locations
CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice
CoCo is a Taiwanese bubble tea franchise that’s been around for over two decades, and they’ve now got over 4,000 stores worldwide.
They opened their first shop in Toronto back in 2014, and they’ve now got over 50 stores across Ontario!
My go-to order is pretty much always the Red Bean Matcha Milk Tea, but I love trying other fun new drinks they have like their Strawberry Black Tea Macchiato.
Their Taro Milk Tea is also my fave out of any bubble tea shops in the GTA!
CoCo does make their drinks pretty sweet, so ask for less sweetness if you don’t like your bubble tea being too sweet.
You can find them at Yonge & Weldrick or at Commerce Gate in Richmond Hill.
LOCATION: Various locations
Now Tea
This locally-established bubble tea shop is fairly new to the GTA, and you can find them at Commerce Gate in Richmond Hill.
Try their Rose Oolong Milk Tea or Purple Rice Milk Tea!
LOCATION: 505 Hwy 7 #61-63, Thornhill, ON
Hey I am Yogost
If you’re in the mood for ~healthier~ bubble tea, try the yogurt-based drinks at Hey I am Yogost.
They make their own yogurt and purple rice yogurt using secret recipes, which are the base of their drinks.
Try their classic Rice Yogurt or go for something more fun like their Tiramisu Mochi Yogurt!
LOCATION: 505 Hwy 7, Markham, ON
Ten Ren’s Tea
Perhaps one of the oldest bubble tea shops on this list (founded in Taiwan in the 1950s), Ten Ren’s has been in the GTA for quite some time.
Stop into their Richmond Hill restaurants at Bayview & Major Mackenzie or at Highway 7 & Leslie, where you’ll find tea-infused food dishes and bubble tea drinks.
Ten Ren’s is one of the largest tea retailers and manufacturers in the world, so you’ll find a large selection of teas on their drink menu, from traditional Chinese teas to flavoured milk teas!
My go-to drink is usually the Purple Taro Hot Milk Tea, and the Pu-Erh Milk Tea is delicious as well.
