Where to buy cute summer dresses in Canada

The Sleep Shirt

This Vancouver-based contemporary loungewear brand is is known for their iconic sleep shirts, but they’ve got a great selection of amazing dresses that are perfect for summer.

Their sleep shirts are designed to be worn outside of the house as well, and all their pieces are ethically made in Canada using natural fibres like cotton and linen!

I adore this white long sleep shirt, this black midi slip dress, and this magenta cowl neck slip dress, all of which can also be worn as everyday dresses.

Abercrombie & Fitch

You might remember Abercrombie as the beachy, preppy clothing brand, but they actually have a lot of more modern, cute pieces.

They have a lot of summer dresses that you might see at Aritzia or Reformation, and they’re a lot more affordable.

Abercrombie is a sister brand to Hollister, if you didn’t know!

Wearing Ever New Melbourne summer dress at Allan Gardens Conservatory in Toronto, Canada

Ever New

Ever New is a Melbourne-based clothing brand that makes gorgeous and feminine pieces for both work and play.

If you’re looking for midi and maxi summer dresses, you’ll find plenty of stunning ones at Ever New!

Their dresses are a mix of youthful and classy, so they’re perfect for the twenty-something who isn’t all about the skimpy summer dresses anymore.

A lot of their summer dresses are in the pricier $100-$200 range, but their pieces are timeless and can be worn for years to come.

I adore this pretty puff sleeve mini dress, this fun floral midi dress, and this chic cowl neck maxi slip dress.

They also use a lot of sustainable materials for their pieces, which is really nice!

Reformation

I literally die for the gorgeous and timeless summer dresses at Reformation.

A lot of their summer dresses are form-fitting and super flattering, and they usually have plenty of different prints and colours for each dress style.

I adore the Juliette midi dress and Belgium linen midi dress – both are timeless and stunning.

The Jeune dress is another fun option for summer!

If you haven’t heard of Reformation before, they’re a sustainable fashion brand that makes gorgeous and modern pieces.

You can shop them online, and they have free express shipping, easy returns, and duty free shipping to Canada!

They are on the pricier end with most dresses in the $300-$400 price range, but their pieces are ethically made with sustainable materials.

You can also often find brand new or gently-worn Reformation dresses on Poshmark at a discount, and you can use my code “JESSICAILAM” to save $15 on your first order!

Rose the Label

This ethical dress brand is owned by two sisters based out of Canada and Thailand, and their dresses are gorgeous.

All of their pieces are ethically made at their own factory in Thailand, where employees are treated with respect and fairly compensated.

I adore their Luna Flower dress and their Angelica dress, both of which are so pretty and perfect for summer.

They also have really nice wedding guest dresses as well!

Harly Jae

Harly Jae is an amazing Canadian sustainable fashion brand that makes feminine and vintage-inspired womenswear using all-natural and deadstock materials.

All of their garments are made in small factories in Vancouver, and it’s made in small batches of 40 to 200 units.

Since they produce pieces in small batches and they sell imperfect pieces at sample sales, they’re completely overstock free (which means they don’t keep extra stock!)

I adore the Paysanne mini dress and the Milos dress, both of which are so pretty.

Lights of All

This Canadian sustainable fashion brand makes the daintiest and prettiest summer dresses that are perfect for frolicking in lavender fields.

They only design two collections per year, as they’re focused on a slow fashion mindset.

I adore their Priya mini dress, their Priya midi dress, and their Field midi dress.

They were originally based out of Montreal, but now they’re based out of Toronto!

TAMGA Designs

TAMGA Designs is another incredible Canadian sustainable fashion brand, and their chic and feminine pieces are ethically made in Indonesia using eco-friendly materials.

They have a lot of gorgeous pieces in all kinds of fun prints, and you’ll find plenty of beautiful summer dresses to shop!

I’m obsessed with the Cyndy mini dress, Jenny mini dress, and Carnelia maxi dress, all of which are so pretty.

They’re also based out of Ontario, which I love as a Torontonian!

Summer outfit featuring Aritzia white slip dress, pink trench coat, Jeffrey Campbell grey suede booties, and nude Michael Kors bag

Aritzia

I literally used to have an unhealthy obsession with Aritzia, and I knew every single product they had in-store.

You definitely know of Aritzia if you’re Canadian, but if you don’t know if it, they’re a clothing brand based out of Vancouver.

A lot of their pieces are simple with a twist, so you can keep them in your wardrobe for years.

They also use a lot of nice and luxurious-feeling fabrics for their summer dresses!

H&M eco-conscious dress with Jeffrey Campbell booties

H&M

I’m not at all an advocate for fast fashion, but H&M does use a lot of natural, recycled, and sustainable materials for their pieces now.

A big part of sustainable fashion is investing in timeless pieces, and they have plenty of gorgeous summer dresses that you can wear for years to come!

This cotton t-shirt dress and linen tie-belt dress are both closet staples made using natural fibres of cotton and linen.

Guess

I’ve been shopping at Guess since high school, and I’ve always adored the amazing and long-lasting quality of their pieces.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a piece of Guess clothing rip or damage on me, which I can’t say for any other clothing brand I’ve ever shopped from.

They also now have an eco-friendly collection made with sustainable materials, including summer dresses!

A lot of their summer dresses are in the $100 to $200 range, but I think it’s definitely worth it for the quality.

I adore this stunning Eco Rose maxi dress, this dainty lace maxi dress, and this really pretty Rachel romper.

They also have a sister brand called Marciano, which I would say is a little more “mature” and office chic.

Wearing ASTR the Label dress at Labsense Ice Cream in Toronto, Canada

Amazon Canada

Y’all know how much I love buying clothes on Amazon Canada – they always have great deals, and the shipping is super fast!

They have all kinds of popular brands like ASTR the Label and For Love & Lemons, and they even have their own in-house clothing brands like The Drop.

I adore this ASTR the Label slip dress and this The Drop tiered maxi dress.

While you can’t shop on Amazon in-store (at least yet), you can get free same-day, 1-day, or 2-day shipping in various large cities across Canada!

If you’re looking to shop cute clothes on Amazon, I’ve got blog posts all about the best clothing brands, dresses (or wedding guest dresses), swimsuits, and shoes!

The Bay

Of course, we can’t forget the iconic Hudson’s Bay Company, which is the oldest clothing company in Canada.

They have all kinds of brands available at The Bay, from affordable to designer, and they have plenty of adorable summer dresses you can shop.
