If you’re looking for the best birthday freebies in Toronto, there are plenty of awesome free stuff you can get on your birthday in the city.
It’s funny that as you get older, birthdays start to get less and less important – but even so, I love me some free stuff.
I always forget to take advantage of getting free things on my birthday, but hopefully you manage to enjoy some of the free stuff you can get on your birthday in Toronto.
Some of these things are actually free, while others require purchase in order to get something free.
Without further ado, here are free things you can get on your birthday in Toronto!

Best birthday freebies in Toronto
Chatime
Chatime is one of the best bubble tea spots in Toronto, and they offer a free handcrafted drink on your birthday.
You have to register your birthday on the Chatime app, and you’ll get the free birthday drink loaded onto your card 7 days before your birthday.
You do have to make a minimum purchase of $2.50 before your birthday in order to get the free drink, and it’s valid for 7 days before and after your birthday.
The Signature Milk Tea is my absolute fave at Chatime, but I also love their Thai Milk Tea!
The Alley
The Alley is another one of my fave bubble tea spots in Toronto, and they offer a free drink on your birthday.
You just have to have the app on your phone, and you can only claim it on your actual birthday!
The Deerioca Fever with fresh milk is my go-to drink at The Alley.
They have tons of locations across the GTA, and I love how aesthetically pleasing and Instagrammable their stores are.
Gong Cha
If you can’t get enough of bubble tea, here’s another one for ya.
You can also enjoy a free drink on your birthday at Gong Cha if you sign up for their Gong Cha Rewards program!
Jugo Juice
This healthy spot offers up a wide array of delicious smoothies and fresh-pressed juices.
Get a free large smoothie on your birthday at Jugo Juice if you sign up for their Jugo Juice Rewards!
You also get a free small smoothie as a welcome offer for signing up.
Starbucks
Starbucks also offers a free drink or breakfast sandwich for your birthday with the app, though it’s only good for the day of your birthday.
You have to register for the Starbucks Rewards program at least 7 days before your birthday, as well as make a purchase using the card before your birthday.
You also have to claim it at a standalone Starbucks location – it doesn’t work at certain Starbucks locations (such as inside grocery stores)!
I went into a Starbucks at Longo’s for my birthday last year, and had to buy my own drink *tear, tear*.
One of my go-to drinks is the Caramel Macchiato (iced or hot), and lately I’ve been loving the limited edition Toasted Vanilla Oat Shaken Espresso.
Tim Hortons
Can’t get enough caffeine, or just looking for some free breakfast?
Tim Hortons offers a free drink (worth 70-100 points) or free breakfast sandwich on your birthday.
You’ll have to download the Tims Rewards app to claim your birthday freebie!
The Night Baker
The Night Baker is an incredible Toronto cookie shop run by two chemists-turned-bakers, and they make cookies in all kinds of unique and fun flavours.
They also offer a free cookie on your birthday, which is pretty sweet!
You’ll find Asian flavours like Ooh Bae (an ube cheesecake cookie with ube jam) and White Rabbit Cookies, as well as other options like Campfire S’mores and Black Forest (with maraschino cherries!)
You can find The Night Baker both in Little Italy and on the Danforth.

COBS Bread
For my pastry loving homies: you can get a free cinnamon bun on your birthday at COBS!
You’ll have to join the COBS Club Program at least 7 days before your birthday, and make at least one purchase before your birthday.
The birthday reward is valid for 2 weeks after your birthday!
Panera Bread
Panera also offers a free sweet treat on your birthday!
You’ll have to sign up for a MyPanera account in order to qualify for it.
iHalo Krunch
iHalo Krunch is known for their amazing charcoal soft serve ice cream, and they’ve got a variety of delicious Asian-inspired flavours as well.
They offer a free cup or cone on your birthday, and you can visit them at their locations in Trinity Bellwoods, by High Park, or on the Danforth.
They’ve also got locations in Vaughan Mills and the Oshawa Centre!
Marble Slab Creamery
This one’s for ya ice cream fiends out there.
Marble Slab offers a $5 coupon that expires 7 days after your birthday.
You have to sign up for their mailing list at least 48 hours before your birthday!
Baskin Robbins
Baskin Robbins offers buy one get one free on soft serve cones for your birthday, so it’s not exactly free, but it’s still something.
You just have to register for their Club 31 program to get the coupon for it, and you can register the day of your birthday!
They also offer $3 off an ice cream cake if you’re part of the Club 31 program.
Dairy Queen
Like Baskin Robbins, DQ offers buy one get one free Blizzards, and you’ll have to sign up for the DQ Blizzard Fan Club to claim the birthday reward.
You get one week to claim your birthday reward!
Monga Fried Chicken
Monga serves up deliciously juicy Taiwanese-style fried chicken, and you can get a free Baoger on your birthday.
If you haven’t had bao sandwich before, it’s a delicious steamed bread stuffed with filling (in this case, fried chicken!)
You’ll have to visit one of their GTA locations ahead of time to sign up for their rewards program, where you’ll also have to register your birthday with them!
You can find them in downtown, Richmond Hill, North York, and Mississauga.
Mandarin Restaurant
In the mood for more Chinese food?
Sign up for the Mandarin Dish newsletter to get a free birthday feast if you dine with 3 paying adults.
You’ll have to sign up at least one day before your birthday in order to receive the e-coupon!
Impact Kitchen
This healthy Toronto restaurant offers a completely gluten-free menu featuring paleo to vegan options.
If you sign up as an Impact Loyalty Member, you get a free smoothie reward on your birthday!
They’ve got several locations across downtown, including at the Harbourfront (my fave) and in Liberty Village.

Kettleman’s Bagels
Kettleman’s is a popular 24-hour Ottawa bakery that’s been serving up Montreal-style bagels since the 90’s, and they now have a location in downtown Toronto by Bathurst & Front!
You can get a free dozen bagels on your birthday if you sign up for their app, but you have to sign up at least 30 days before your birthday.
You can literally watch them make their bagels by hand inside the bakery, which is pretty cool!
Choose from a dozen different bagel options (including Poppy Seed, Garlic, and Blueberry), and order one of their amazing sandwiches while you’re already visiting.

What a Bagel
What a Bagel offers 6 free bagels when you buy 6 bagels on your birthday.
They’re a Toronto-based bakery known for their bagels, but they have other pastries like croissants and cinnamon rolls!
They’ve got 3 locations downtown and several other locations across the GTA.
New York Fries
My family used to always get New York Fries every time we went to the mall growing up – their poutines are amaze.
If you sign up for NYF’s Fry Society program, you get a free regular fries on your birthday.
If you load $25 on your Fry Society card, you also get a free regular-size poutine!
Mr. Sub
Mr. Sub offers a free 6-inch Classics sub if you sign up for their Mr. Sub Rewards program.
This includes their Assorted Sub (my personal fave), Veggie and Cheese, Ham Sub, and Pizza Sub!
South St. Burger
South St. Burger offers buy one get one free burger on your birthday.
They have awesome burgers that are made with Canadian angus beef, raised without antibiotics or hormones!
You have to register online for their Birthday Club at least 72 hours before your birthday, and you’ll receive the coupon on your birthday, which will be valid for 14 days.
Harvey’s
Harvey’s offers a special gift on your birthday if you register for their Burger Boss Club, though it’s not clear what the reward is!
The Works
The Works is an awesome Ontario-based burger chain with a bunch of locations across the GTA.
You can completely customize your burger, from the bun, to the patty, to the toppings, and the possibilities are endless.
They also have signature burgers to choose from – the Hipster is my go-to!
Sign up for their Burgers with Benefits Club at least 9 days before your birthday to get a free burger on your birthday.
Boston Pizza
Boston Pizza is one of my family’s favourite Canadian restaurant chains – their food is actually super delicious.
We especially love their pastas and pizzas!
You can get a free dessert if you sign up for their MyBP Loyalty Program.
Kelsey’s
Kelsey’s is another great Canadian restaurant chain, and they also offer free dessert on your birthday if you sign up for their emails.
Another awesome perk if you sign up for their emails: free spinach dip with the purchase of an entrée!
Montana’s
If you sign up for Montana’s Grill Lovers Club, you get a free sweet treat and 10% off a minimum purchase of $30 on your birthday.
You’ll have 14 days from your birthday to collect the reward!
You also get a free appetizer both when you sign up and on the anniversary of your signup, though you have to purchase two adult antrées in order to redeem them.
Lone Star Texas Grill
Enjoy a free dessert on your birthday if you sign up for The Sizzle newsletter.
Other perks of signing up: get a $10 off coupon after signup and free unlimited chips and salsa every time you dine-in!
The Keg Steakhouse + Bar
The Keg has always been one of my family’s go-to restaurants for special occasions, and they give you a free Billy Miner Pie on your birthday.
Of course, you have to grab one of their steaks for dinner while you’re here!
Red Lobster
Red Lobster gives you a birthday coupon if you sign up for their Fresh Catch News, and you must sign up at least 10 days before your birthday to receive it.
You also get a free appetizer or dessert if you sign up for the newsletter, as long as you purchase two adult entrées!
Denny’s
Denny’s offers a free Build Your Own Grand Slam on your birthday, and it’s only valid for dining in.
You can choose 4 different breakfast items as part of the Build Your Own Grand Slam!
The free meal doesn’t include taxes or tips, and it’s not valid at their Niagara Falls or Nepean locations.
Sephora
Sephora comes out with a few different options of free birthday gifts each year that you can choose from.
They’re usually mini sets of makeup, skincare, or haircare products, and you have to register for their Beauty Insider program in order to get the free birthday gift!
You can walk into one of their stores and get the free birthday gift without purchasing anything, but you’ll have to buy something if you want to redeem it online.
The gift is redeemable 2 weeks before or after your birthday!
Trapped
If you love escape rooms, you’ll definitely be very happy to hear about this free birthday gift you can get near Toronto.
Trapped only has locations around the GTA, but their birthday offer is pretty awesome, so I had to include it in here!
They offer a free game play within 3 days of your birthday, so only your guests need to pay admission!
You can find them in Markham, Mississauga, and Vaughan.
