Mexican food is one of the loves of my life; I could eat tacos everyday for the rest of my life and never get sick of them. I grew up only ever eating homemade tacos, and while they’re really good, nothing beats authentic Mexican tacos. Within the past year or so I’ve tried a variety of taco spots, and I thought I’d write a list of the best ones I’ve found.
1. Grand Electric
Grand Electric is by far my most favourite taco spot of all time. Adam and I discovered it through UberEATS, and we have yet to actually go into their restaurant. I absolutely love their fish tacos and chicken tacos, and we always get their amazing mission wings.

2. La Carnita
La Carnita’s tacos are just as amazing as Grand Electric’s, but the location is much easier to get to. I prefer coming here during the daytime because at nighttime they blast the music and keep the restaurant pretty dimly-lit.

3. Mi Taco Taqueria
If you’re looking for something quick and cheap, definitely check out Mi Taco Taqueria. I always get the taco plato ($10), which includes two tacos of your choice, rice, and beans. You can customize your tacos to your liking, and I always get a bunch of different salsas on mine. My only complaint is how cramped the seating area is, and how steep the stairs to the basement bathroom are (I actually fell down them the last time I went).

4. Wilbur Mexicana
Wilbur had been on my list of places to try forever, and while it didn’t meet my high expectations for it, the tacos were still really delicious. The restaurant is very spacious, attractive, and clean and the food came out pretty quickly.

5. Tacos 101
They’re cheap, they’re located right by Ryerson, and they’re on Ritual, making it a prime taco spot. I love fish tacos, but their fish taco is filled with some sort of pickled vegetable and I did not like it at all. However, I’m obsessed with their carnitas and al pastor tacos – they’re amazing.
