12 Best Restaurants on Queen Street West

Searching for the best restaurants on Queen Street West in Toronto to dine at?

Queen West is one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the city – from cool vintage boutiques to delicious restaurants, there’s plenty to do in the area.

Queen Street West actually runs from the Eaton Centre at Yonge Street all the way to Roncesvalles Avenue in Parkdale, so it’s quite a long way.

The stretch of Queen from Yonge up until Bathurst is known as Queen West, while the area from Bathurst up until Roncesvalles is known as West Queen West.

They now also have a location on Queen West, where you can enjoy everything from their Khao Soi to Green Curry.

They’ve also got a secret menu, and their Islamic Noodles are da best.

Ikkousha Ramen in Toronto

Ikkousha Ramen

You’ll find Ikkousha’s two locations right on Queen, just around the corner from Osgoode Station.

Each location serves up different styles of ramen: 249 Queen West serves up Tonkotsu (pork) ramen while 257 Queen West serves up Tori (chicken) ramen.

They’ve got a variety of ramen options, whether you’re looking for something mild like Miso or Shoyu or something spicy like their Spicy Miso or God Fire (choose between 1-4 for spice level).

If you’re looking for a side dish, you’ll definitely want to order their Mentaiko Don, which features salted cod roe on rice.

Ikkousha is also a great spot to dine alone, as they’ve got a decent amount of counter seats!

Little India Restaurant in Toronto

Little India Restaurant

I’ve been coming to Little India since I was a kid, and it’s definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in Toronto.

They’ve been around for almost three decades, and they serve up their secret family recipes.

Literally everything on their menu is incredible, but my go-to dishes are their Butter Chicken, Tandoori Chicken, Onion Bhajia, and Garlic Naan.

I’d definitely recommend ordering a bunch of dishes to share, that way you can try as many things as possible!

If you’re in the mood for a sweet treat, order a Mango Lassi (a delicious mango yogurt drink) or Gulab Jamun (sweet balls of goodness).

Their restaurant has a romantic vibe with all the warm colours, so it’s a perfect spot for date nights as well!

Midori Ramen

Chefs Masaru Ogasawara and Natsuhiko Sugimoto both hail from Japan, and they serve up some of the best ramen in Toronto.

From their Signature Tori Paitan Ramen, to their Black Garlic Ramen, to their Duck Shoyu Ramen, they’ve got a delicious and unique variety of ramen options to choose from.

The Black Garlic Ramen is one of my faves.

Their ramen is made using either their milky chicken broth or their cauliflower-based vegetarian broth, both of which are amazing.

For my fellow spicy food lovers, the Spicy Tan Tan Ramen has the perfect amount of spiciness: spicy, but not too spicy.

If you’re looking to share an appetizer, definitely go for their delicious Purple Yam Fries, which comes with a side of honey butter mayo.

Our only complaint is that they don’t really give you much sauce, so you kinda have to cheap out on dipping 😛

We adore the Purple Yam Fries.

Midori has a few locations across the city, including their Queen & Spadina location and Scarborough, Richmond Hill, and Vaughan locations.

We especially love their Scarborough location – the decor is super nice, and the service there is fantastic!

North of Brooklyn Pizzeria

Enjoy New York-style pizza at North of Brooklyn, one of Toronto’s best pizzerias.

Go for a classic Margherita pizza or try their Killer Bee topped with jalapenos and honey!

They’ve got a small menu made up of 14″ and 18″ pizzas, salads, and garlic knots.

Their Queen West location is located just west of Bathurst, and they’ve also got 5 other locations across the city, including in the Junction, in Cabbagetown, and on the Danforth.

Terroni

Terroni is one of Toronto’s best Italian restaurants, and they serve up amazing Southern Italian dishes and pizza.

I always get the Spaghetti in Canna a Mare, which is a seafood pasta.

Their Queen West location is actually their OG spot, but they’ve now got restaurants and cafés across the city!

LOCATION: 720 Queen St W, Toronto, ON

Bar’kada

If you’re craving authentic Filipino cuisine, Bar’kada is your spot to visit.

This upscale restaurant on Queen West has plenty of unique fusion dishes, including their Honey Adobo Chicken Wings, Short Rib Pappardelle, and Ube Creme Brulee!

I’d definitely go with the Bar’kada Platter, which comes with a lil’ bit of everything.

They’ve also got an incredible brunch menu with plenty of Filipino tapas and mains, like their Lola’s Lumpia and Ube French Toast!

Their space is beautiful and modern, and they’ve even got a neon sign with their name on it.

Smoque N’ Bones

This popular Queen West barbecue joint near Trinity Bellwoods serves up made-from-scratch Southern-style comfort foods, slow-cooked meats, and bourbon.

They take inspiration from Memphis, Texas, Kansas, the Carolinas, as well as Toronto.

From Pulled Pork to Beef Brisket, all their meats are rubbed in their signature spice rub and smoked in their specially-made Southern Pride smoker, which gives their meats their distinct flavour and aroma.

Enjoy your authentic Southern BBQ with traditional sides including Mac N’ Cheese, Cornbread, or Country Potato Salad.

If you’re looking to try a bunch of different things on the menu, they’ve got a Sampler for Two, Family Feast, Wing and Rib Combo, and Family BBQ, which all include various meats and sides!

Their rustic space features dining tables made with reclaimed wood from an old house on Palmerston, as well as old bunker and prison lights from WWII.

Fresh on Spadina, Toronto

Fresh Restaurants

Fresh is one of my favourite vegan restaurants in Toronto, especially because their food doesn’t taste vegan, if you know what I mean.

Their burgers are absolutely amazing, as well as their onion rings.

While I love them for their vegan comfort foods, they’ve also got healthy food options like bowls and salads.

They’ve got a bunch of locations across Toronto, including on Queen West!

The Good Son

You’ll find some of the best pizzas in Toronto at The Good Son, alongside some other amazing shareable dishes like Jerk Shrimp and Steak Tartare.

Go for a classic Margherita pizza or try something more unique like their Mauna Loa (with smoked pork cheek, roasted pineapple, and scotch bonnet).

They use local, seasonal, and organic produce and hormone-free and free-range proteins in their dishes, a lot of which are cooked in their wood-fired oven!

The interior of their Queen West restaurant is super cool, and they also have a gorgeous restaurant in North York at Shops at Don Mills.
