8 Best Restaurants on Queen Street West

Searching for the best restaurants on Queen Street West in Toronto to eat at?

Queen West is one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the city – from cool vintage boutiques to delicious restaurants, there’s plenty to do in the area.

Queen Street West actually runs from the Eaton Centre at Yonge Street all the way to Roncesvalles Avenue in Parkdale, so it’s quite a long way.

The stretch of Queen from Yonge up until Bathurst is known as Queen West, while the area from Bathurst up until Roncesvalles is known as West Queen West.

To make life easier, I’ve included restaurants and food spots across the entire stretch of Queen West, no matter which part you’re looking to visit.

Here’s your guide to the best restaurants in Toronto’s Queen Street West neighbourhood, starting from east to west!

And if you’ve got a big sweet tooth, this Queen West pastry crawl is something fun you can do in the neighbourhood!

Brunch at Planta Restaurant in Toronto

Planta Queen

Whether you’re vegan or not, you’ll definitely enjoy eating at Planta Queen.

Their Queen location has a focus on Asian-inspired dishes, including vegan sushi, noodles, and dumplings.

They’ve got some pretty unique vegan dishes, like their Ahi Watermelon Nigiri and General D’s Cauliflower!

Their OG spot was on Yorkville, and now they’ve got a few locations and concepts across the city, as well as in the USA.

All of their spots are v Instagrammable if you’re in search of Instagram-worthy restaurants to eat at!

Salad King

Salad King is one of the best Thai restaurants in Toronto, and their Yonge St. location has been a fave of Ryerson students for years!

They now also have a location on Queen West, where you can enjoy everything from their Khao Soi to Green Curry.

They’ve also got a secret menu, and their Islamic Noodles are da best.

You can choose your spiciness level from 1 to 20 chilis as well!

LOCATION: 224 Queen St. West, Toronto, ON

Little India Restaurant in Toronto

Little India Restaurant

I’ve been coming to Little India since I was a kid, and it’s definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in Toronto.

They’ve been around for almost three decades, and they serve up their secret family recipes.

Literally everything on their menu is incredible, but my go-to dishes are their Butter Chicken, Tandoori Chicken, Onion Bhajia, and Garlic Naan.

I’d definitely recommend ordering a bunch of dishes to share, that way you can try as many things as possible!

If you’re in the mood for a sweet treat, order a Mango Lassi (a delicious mango yogurt drink) or Gulab Jamun (sweet balls of goodness).

They used to actually have an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet here before the pandemic, but now they just have lunch combos.

Their restaurant has a romantic vibe with all the warm colours, so it’s a perfect spot for date nights as well.

They’re also open every single day of the week from 11:30 AM to 10 PM, and you can find them on Queen near Osgoode Station!

LOCATION: 255 Queen St W, Toronto, ON

Terroni

Terroni is one of Toronto’s best Italian restaurants, and they serve up amazing Southern Italian dishes and pizza.

I always get the Spaghetti in Canna a Mare, which is a seafood pasta.

Their Queen West location is their OG spot, but they’ve now got restaurants and café across the city!

LOCATION: 720 Queen St. West, Toronto, ON

Fresh on Spadina, Toronto

Fresh Restaurants

Fresh is one of my favourite vegan restaurants in Toronto, especially because their food doesn’t taste vegan, if you know what I mean.

Their burgers are absolutely amazing, as well as their onion rings.

While I love them for their vegan comfort foods, they’ve also got healthy food options like bowls and salads.

They’ve got a bunch of locations across Toronto, including on Queen West.

LOCATION: 894 Queen St. West, Toronto, ON

The owner, Ernesto, named the restaurant after his grandmother Lola, which is really sweet and wholesome.

The Good Son

You’ll find some of the best pizzas in Toronto at The Good Son, alongside some other amazing shareable dishes like Jerk Shrimp and Steak Tartare.

Go for a classic Margherita pizza or try something more unique like their Mauna Loa (with smoked pork cheek, roasted pineapple, and scotch bonnet).

They use local, seasonal, and organic produce and hormone-free and free-range proteins in their dishes, a lot of which are cooked in their wood-fired oven!

The interior of their Queen West restaurant is super cool, and they also have a gorgeous restaurant in North York at Shops at Don Mills.

LOCATION: 1096 Queen St. West, Toronto, ON

North of Brooklyn Pizzeria

Can’t get enough of pizza?

You can enjoy New York-style pizza at North of Brooklyn, also one of Toronto’s best pizzerias.

Go for a classic Margherita pizza or try their Killer Bee topped with jalapenos and honey!

They’ve got a small menu made up of 14″ and 18″ pizzas, salads, and garlic knots.

Their Queen West location is just west of Bathurst, and they’ve also got 4 other locations across the city.
