Romantic restaurants in Toronto
Her Father’s Cider Bar + Kitchen
Her Father’s Cider Bar + Kitchen is such an incredible restaurant in the Annex that deserves way more recognition.
They serve farm-to-table dishes using local ingredients, and everything they make is just so delicious – I absolutely adore their Crispy Brussels Sprouts.
Be sure to grab a cider tasting flight while you’re here – they’ve got over 100 different ciders from Ontario and around the world!
The rustic vibes of the restaurant are especially romantic in the evening, and they even have a lovely patio that gets heated during the colder months.
LOCATION: 119 Harbord St, Toronto, ON
Little India Restaurant
Little India has served up secret family recipes for almost three decades at their spot on Queen West.
Literally everything on their menu is incredible, but my go-to dishes are the Butter Chicken, Tandoori Chicken, Onion Bhajia, and Garlic Naan.
All the warm colours make for a romantic setting, and it’s the perfect spot for date night.
They used to have an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet, but sadly they don’t anymore!
LOCATION: 255 Queen St W, Toronto
Quetzal
You’ll find upscale Mexican cuisine at this gorgeous restaurant in Little Italy with all of the romantic vibes.
They actually won one Michelin Star in the 2022 Toronto Michelin Guide, which is pretty amazing!
You can either go for their $100 tasting menu or order à-la-carte, and they even grind their own corn for their house-made tortillas.
Chef Grant van Gameren is one of Toronto’s most well-known chefs, and he operates both Bar Isabel and Quetzal!
LOCATION: 419 College St, Toronto, ON
MIMI Chinese
MIMI serves up upscale Chinese cuisine at their restaurant near Yorkville, and the dim lighting and red banquette seating makes for a romantic setting.
Everything on the menu is meant to be shared, and all the dishes are inspired by the diverse regions of China.
They even specify what region each dish is inspired by on the menu!
From their Mapo Tofu Beef to their House Char Siu, they put their own spin on classic Chinese dishes.
They even have a fantastic cocktail menu made with Asian ingredients, alongside a wine list meant to be paired with the dishes!
You can find MIMI near Davenport & Avenue.
LOCATION: 265 Davenport Rd, Toronto, ON
Sofia Restaurant
Enjoy creative Italian fare at this extravagant spot in Yorkville, where they serve up a variety of different raw and cooked seafood dishes, meat dishes, and more.
They’ve also got a variety of Italian-inspired signature cocktails, as well as wines from Italy, France, and beyond!
Tall mirrored columns, luxurious red velvet seating, and artwork by internationally-renowned artists bring all the romantic vibes to the restaurant.
LOCATION: 99 Yorkville Ave, Toronto, ON
Cluny Bistro & Boulangerie
Enjoy all of the European vibes while indulging in delicious French dishes at Cluny, one of the best restaurants in Toronto’s Distillery District.
The interior of the restaurant is stunning, and they’ve also got a lovely semi-enclosed outdoor patio that’s perfect for a romantic summer date night.
They even have heating for those extra chilly evenings at the end of summer.
LOCATION: 35 Tank House Lane, Toronto, ON
Patria
Patria serves up authentic Spanish tapas and paella at their romantic space on King West.
They source premium ingredients directly from Spain, and they also source the freshest seafood for their dishes on a daily basis!
They’ve also got an extensive wine list with imported Spanish wines to pair perfectly with all your tapas.
LOCATION: 478 King St W, Toronto, ON
Bar Raval
Bar Raval is another amazing Toronto spot for Spanish tapas and craft cocktails.
Chef Grant van Gameron is behind this swanky restaurant, which has a gorgeous and romantic interior.
They’ve got a drink menu full of classic and house cocktails, as well as local beers and ciders and local and imported European wines.
Interesting thing about this spot: they have extremely limited seating, and you’re meant to stand while enjoying your tapas and drinks!
You can find them right by College & Bathurst, and they have a lovely enclosed patio.
They also received Bib Gourmand designation on the 2022 Toronto Michelin Guide, which is pretty cool!
LOCATION: 505 College St, Toronto, ON
Osteria Giulia
If you’re looking for a romantic Italian restaurant in Toronto, you’ll definitely want to pay a visit to Osteria Giulia.
Chef Rob Rossi serves up a seafood-focused menu with an extensive Italian wine and cocktail list at his stunning restaurant in Yorkville.
They actually received one Michelin Star on the 2022 Toronto Michelin Guide!
They offer a tasting menu for $100 per person, or you can order their Northern Italian dishes à-la-carte.
I absolutely adore the clean and minimal aesthetic of the restaurant, which feels very intimate and cozy.
Fun fact: Chef Rossi was runner-up in the first season of Top Chef Canada!
LOCATION: 134 Avenue Rd, Toronto, ON
Prime Seafood Palace
Prime Seafood Palace is one of Chef Matty Matheson’s latest ventures, with a focus on high-end seafood dishes.
Enjoy cold seafood dishes like their Dungeness Crab Cocktail or warm seafood dishes like their Grilled Humbodlt Squid, Stratcciatella, White Asparagus.
Other unique dishes include their Lobster and Ricotta Dumplings and Kaviari (which comes with chips, bread, butter, chives, shallots, and creme fraiche).
I adore the cozy and woody architecture of the restaurant, and the vibes are super romantic.
You can find Prime Seafood Palace right by Queen & Shaw!
LOCATION: 944 Queen St W, Toronto, ON
Canoe Restaurant
Canoe sits at 54 storeys above the city, and the gorgeous Toronto skyline views make for all the romantic vibes.
Definitely make reservations ahead of time and ask for a window seat table with CN Tower views so you can have plenty of cute Instagram photo opps!
They have an 8-course tasting menu at $165 per person, and it features seasonal Canadian ingredients, with a mix of land and sea dishes.
You can also add wine pairings for an additional $100 per person!
They can also prepare a vegetarian, pescatarian, or vegan tasting menu with advance notice, as well as halal requests with one week’s notice.
Canoe is located inside the TD Tower in the Financial District, and it’s accessible via the underground PATH.

LOCATION: 66 Wellington St W 54th floor, Toronto, ON
Sushi Masaki Saito
Chef Masaki Saito is the only two Michelin-Starred chef running a restaurant in Canada, and his upscale Yorkville restaurant, Sushi Masaki Saito, has also received two Michelin Stars!
Sushi Masaki Saito is the only Toronto restaurant to have received two Michelin Stars on the 2022 Toronto Michelin Guide, which is super cool.
Their specialty and only offering is their omakase menu, which costs $680 per person.
They fly their fish in exclusively from Japan, and they change up their menu by the seasons.
If you don’t know what omakase is, it’s a traditional Japanese experience where the chef puts together their own selection of dishes featuring the freshest seasonal seafood.
The restaurant is housed in a historic Victorian building on Avenue Road, with an Old Edo-style interior.
They even imported a 200-year old Hinoki dining counter from Nara, Japan!
They also have a more affordable omakase sushi bar called MSSM in the Yorkville neighbourhood, which costs $98 per person and includes 14 pieces.
