10 Best Korean Fried Chicken Spots in Toronto

Searching for the best Korean fried chicken spots in Toronto to indulge in sweet and spicy KFC?

Korean fried chicken has taken over Toronto by storm, and you’ll find plenty of awesome South Korean chains and local spots serving up delicious plates of KFC.

Korean fried chicken is probably my favourite style of fried chicken – it’s crispy, flavourful, and oh-so-delicious.

Here are some of the best Korean fried chicken spots to visit in Toronto!

Mymy Chicken in North York, Toronto

MyMy Chicken

This South Korean chain fries up exclusively fresh chicken for their KFC, with a wide array of flavours from their Honey Garlic Chicken to their Seasoned Spicy Chicken.

Definitely go for the half and half so you can try two different flavours of chicken!

Korean fried chicken goes perfectly with a pint of beer, and you’ll find a selection of local and imported beers.

If you’re into liquors instead, you can opt for a bottle of soju or makgulli (Korean rice wine)!

You can find MyMy in North York near Yonge & Sheppard, and they also have a location in Thornhill.

The Fry

This Toronto-based Korean fried chicken spot opened up over a decade ago near Yonge & Finch, and they now have almost a dozen locations across Ontario.

They have a limited amount of flavours to choose from, but you’ll find classics like their Green Onion Chicken or their Soy Garlic Chicken.

The Fry has several locations across the GTA, including in Koreatown, by Yonge & Wellesley, and in Roncesvalles.

Dakgogi

They don’t have a ton of flavours to choose from, but what they’ve got is still v delicious.

Opt for their sweet and spicy Yang Nyeom Chicken (you can choose the spice level) or their delicious Hot Soy Garlic Chicken.

They’ve also got a bunch of fry options that are perfect for pairing with yo’ KFC, including Kimchi Fries with Spicy Pork and Bulgogi Fries.

They’ve also got some pretty great specials throughout the week: half-priced chicken feet on Mondays and half-priced wings + drink on Tuesdays!

Dakgogi has one location downtown by Yonge & Wellesley and one location in North York by Yonge & Finch.

Drunken Chicken

If you’re looking for flavours outside of the typical ones you’ll find in Korean fried chicken restaurants, stop into Drunken Chicken.

This casual KFC takeout joint in Scarborough serves up a delish and unique selection of Korean fried chicken, from Creamy Garlic, to Spicy Peanuts, to Burning Hell.

You can find them in a plaza by Midland & Finch, AKA Asian food heaven.

JJ Fried Chicken

This unassuming Korean fried chicken spot is situated on Eglinton West, and you’ll find some of the best KFC in Toronto here.

You can choose between boneless or bone-in chicken, and they’ve got all the classic flavours like Soy Garlic, Green Onion, and Cheese Snow.

Definitely grab their Garlic Butter Fries if you’re looking to enjoy a side with your KFC!

Their restaurant is also space-themed, which is super fun and cute.

Chicken in the Kitchen

Chicken in the Kitchen is a KFC chain based out of Seoul, and you can find their bustling spot by Yonge & Finch.

The most unique item on their menu is their epic Cheese Volcano Chicken, which features fried chicken breast atop of rose sauce, surrounding a bread bowl filled with mozzarella and cheddar fondue.

You’ll also find an extensive drink menu with plenty of beer, cocktails, and Korean liquors (including flavoured makgulli).

The popular North York spot has all the cool industrial vibes, and they’ve also got a heated patio for the chillier months.

Pelicana Chicken

Pelicana Chicken is probably one of the oldest franchises on this list – they’ve been around since the ’80s!

They were established back in 1982 in Daejeon, South Korea, and they now have over 2,000 stores around the world.

They fry their chicken in fresh and new oil everyday, and they source all-natural, non-GMO, and cage-free chickens.

They’ve got several different flavours you can choose from, including their Original, Snow Cheese Ppurio, and Pelicana Spicy Signature.

You can also choose between bone-in, boneless, or wing, and your order comes with a side of either their sweet soy, hot spicy, or signature original sauce.

You can find their only Toronto location near Yorkville, and they’ll be opening new stores in North York and Mississauga soon!

NeNe Chicken

NeNe has been serving up authentic Korean fried chicken since 1999, and they now serve up their amazing yellow boxes of made-to-order chicken in Toronto.

You’ll find the typical KFC flavours here like Snowing Cheese Chicken and Soy Garlic Chicken, and they’ve also got some fun options like their CreamyOn Chicken with their CreamyOn sauce and sliced onions.

You’ll even find some fried chicken burgers with a Korean twist, like their Hot-Bling Burger with spicy chilli sauce.

You can find NeNe’s only Toronto location in North York, close to Yonge & Sheppard.

If you’re wondering what “NeNe” means, it means “yes yes” in Korean!

bb.q Chicken

Whether you’re craving classic fried chicken or saucy wings, bb.q Chicken serves it all.

They only use fresh chicken for their KFC, and you can choose between chicken wings, bone-in chicken, or boneless chicken.

They’ve also got a bunch of different flavours, including their sweet Secret Sauced Chicken, their classic Golden Fried, or their popular Soy Garlic!

This famous KFC chain from South Korea has been around since 1995 (the same age as me!) and has over 2,000 locations worldwide.

They’ve got over a dozen locations across the GTA, including in Yorkville, by Yonge & Dundas, and in the Fashion District.

POCHA 1989

This late night spot serves up all kinds of delicious and comforting Korean eats, including their amazing Korean fried chicken.

Choose between the Soy Sauce Chicken or Sweet & Spicy Chicken, and pair it with their Army Base Stew or one of their spicy rice cake options!

They’ve also got some great combo deals if you’re visiting with friends, and their Combo C includes their Spicy Chewy Noodle with Sea Snail, Spicy Mala Rice Cake, Deep Fried Boneless Soy Sauce Chicken, and Sweet & Spicy Chicken.

They even have a large patio out front during the summer months.

You can find POCHA 1989 in the Village, and they’re open every single night from 6 PM to 2:30 AM!

They make air-fried Korean fried chicken, and it’s surprisingly pretty juicy and flavourful, and a lot “healthier” than deep-fried KFC!
