5 Summer Date Ideas in Toronto

5 Summer Date Ideas in Toronto

Although they’re oh-so-short here in Toronto, I look forward to every summer. The city bustles with activities, festivals, and so many new desserts to try, and everything just becomes so lively. Adam and I went out to a movie and dinner last week, and we passed by the Ontario Oyster Festival, Budweiser County Fair, and Unity Festival Concert. There’s just so much going on, and it’s one of the reasons why I love Toronto.

In spirit of summer, I thought I’d do a little list of some cute summer date ideas in the city. Whether you’re going on a first date or going on a friend date, there are plenty of awesome things for you to do!

1. Grab some ice cream at one of Toronto’s best places

The sweetest thing you can do is take your date out for some sweet treats! I pretty much crave ice cream every single day in the summer, and I love that new dessert spots are always opening up in Toronto. I recently tried Short & Sweet Bakeshop (pictured in the main image) and I want to try iHalo Krunch next! These are some of my favourite ice cream spots.

2. Be a tourist and explore parts of the city you’ve never been to

Spend a day with someone you care about exploring somewhere you’ve never been before. Maybe explore Liberty Village or The Beaches! I consider myself to be pretty knowledgable about the city, despite the fact that I haven’t really had the chance to explore all of it. I see most of it through the eyes of my Instagram feed, but it’s always a lot cooler seeing it in person! Here’s a fun day where Adam and I walked from Allan Gardens to the University of Toronto to Trinity Bellwoods Park.

3. Go café hopping

Sipping on lattes while chatting and getting to know each other a bit more is a simple and relaxing date idea. I love love love visiting cute cafés, and Toronto is filled with them. If one isn’t enough, you can go café hopping and visit a few of them! Adam and I did this for my 21st birthday last year.

4. Hit up a cute patio

If you’re not so much of a coffee person, try hitting up a cute little patio for some drinks instead! Lately I’ve been obsessed with trying new patios – there are a lot of adorable ones in Liberty Village and along King West. I’m currently wanting to pay a visit to District Eatery’s rooftop patio.

5. Play some board games at Snakes & Lattes

You forget how fun board games are until you play them again! While it’s fun playing games with a group of friends, it’s also fun playing games as a couple – Adam and I have done so a few times! There are tons of fun games meant for two players, and the employees are always happy to suggest and teach you new ones. Scrabble is my fave date board game to play (I always win).

Where are your go-to date spots? I’d love to know in the comments!
