Happiest Season (2020)

If you’re looking for an actually good Christmas movie on Prime Video, you’ll definitely want to watch Happiest Season.

Abby plans to propose to her girlfriend, Harper, while visiting Harper’s family for Christmas, only to find out Harper hasn’t come out to her parents yet.

It’s a hilarious and heartwarming holiday film, and I teared up a few times.

Kristen Stewart and Dan Levy are a great duo together, and you’ll recognize other faces like Mackenzie Davis, Aubrey Plaza, and Mary Steenburgen.

Last Holiday (2006)

Last Holiday is another one of my fave holiday movies, and it’ll definitely satisfy your wanderlust.

After discovering she has a terminal illness, Georgia quits her job and jets off on a luxurious trip to the Czech Republic.

Queen Latifah and LL Cool J both star in Last Holiday, and Queen Latifah is hilarious and adorable.

Her European outfits are also all on point.

Four Christmases (2008)

Brad and Kate plan to vacation in Fiji for the holidays, but after their plans are foiled, they’re forced to visit all four of their divorced parents for Christmas.

Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon both star in Four Christmases, and it’s absolutely hilarious.

After breaking up with her boyfriend in Chicago, Amy jets off to Vienna to spend Christmas with her brother.

She starts taking ballroom dancing lessons with a dashing European man who she clashes with.

It’s your typical holiday rom-com, but I love the pretty realistic dialogue and jokes.

I also learned from this movie that the main language in Austria is German, which is kinda a fun fact.

A Madea Christmas (2013)

When Eileen decides not to come home for Christmas, her mother Eileen and mother’s friend Madea decide to surprise her with a visit, not knowing she’s secretly married to a white man.

Madea is a character created and portrayed by Tyler Perry (who directed the film), and she’s featured in 11 (soon to be 12) of his movies!

Chad Michael Murray also stars in A Madea Christmas.

Marry Me for Christmas (2013)

Marry Me for Christmas is a cute holiday movie about a career-driven woman who pretends to be engaged to her employee in an attempt to appease her family.

It starts off kind of like The Proposal with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, but Christmas-themed!

Overall it is a little corny, but it’s still a pretty good Christmas movie on Prime Video Canada!

A Gingerbread Romance (2018)

An architect begins to find herself longing for a place to call her own as she works alongside a baker to win a gingerbread house contest.

It’s your typical cheesy Hallmark-type holiday movie, but it’s still a decent one because Tia Mowry stars in it!

Bad Santa (2003)

Two conmen pose as Santa and his Little Helper to rob department stores each Christmas Eve.

Willie, who poses as Santa, is increasingly miserable and depressed this year, and he starts to change for the better after he meets a friendly little boy.

Fatman (2020)

Chris Cringle, AKA Santa Claus, is forced into working with the U.S. military when his business starts to decline.

All the while, he gets chased after a highly-skilled assassin, hired by a spoiled 12-year-old who’s unhappy about receiving a lump of coal in his stocking.

Mel Gibson stars as Santa Claus in this dark comedy.

A Long Way Down (2014)

A Long Way Down is a British black comedy about four strangers who meet on a rooftop with the intentions of jumping, and decide to find reasons to live.

Pierce Brosnan, Toni Collette, Imogen Poots, and Aaron Paul are the four strangers, and Rosamund Pike also has a small part in the movie!
