Young couple Hayley and James say goodbye for Christmas at a London train station, and they both make the same mad split-second decision to swap trains and surprise each other.

Christmas in Vienna (2019)
After breaking up with her boyfriend in Chicago, Amy jets off to Vienna to spend Christmas with her brother.
She starts taking ballroom dancing lessons with a dashing European man who she clashes with.
It’s your typical holiday rom-com, but I love the pretty realistic dialogue and jokes.
I also learned from this movie that the main language in Austria is German, which is kinda a fun fact.

Bridget writes a diary focusing on how she wants to change her life, and her perspective changes drastically after two romantic encounters.

Bad Santa 2 (2016)
If you haven’t seen the first Bad Santa, it’s a dark comedy about two conmen who pose as Santa and his Little Helper in order to rob department stores each Christmas Eve.
Willie, who poses as Santa, is becoming increasingly miserable and depressed, and he starts to change for the better after he meets a friendly little boy.
The second movie continues Willie and Marcus’ debauchery, and you can watch this one on Prime Video.

A Long Way Down (2014)
A Long Way Down is a British black comedy about four strangers who meet on a rooftop with the intentions of jumping, and decide to find reasons to live.

Yep, there are horror holiday movies out there as well.
A group of sorority sisters get stranded in their campus house during a snowstorm, all while a vicious killer is on the loose.
Lacey Chabert (Gretchen from Mean Girls) and Michelle Trachtenberg (from Ice Princess on Disney+) both star in Black Christmas, which is actually a loose remake of the 1974 film of the same name!
