Romance holiday movies
Happiest Season (2020)
If you’re looking for an actually good Christmas movie on Netflix, you’ll definitely want to watch Happiest Season.
Abby plans to propose to her girlfriend, Harper, while visiting Harper’s family for Christmas, only to find out Harper hasn’t come out to her parents yet.
It’s a hilarious and heartwarming holiday film, and I teared up a few times.
Kristen Stewart and Dan Levy are a great duo together, and you’ll recognize other faces like Mackenzie Davis, Aubrey Plaza, and Mary Steenburgen!

Love Hard (2021)
After Natalie meets the perfect guy on a dating app, she decides to fly 3,000 miles to surprise him for Christmas and learns she’s been catfished.
I absolutely fell in love with Love Hard when it first came out, and I’ll definitely be re-watching it every single Christmas.
It’s a super cute and heartwarming romantic holiday movie, and I love that it’s so multicultural!
Nina Dobrev, Jimmy O. Yang, and Darren Barnet (Paxton Hall-Yoshida from Never Have I Ever, also on Netflix) all star in Love Hard!

The Noel Diary (2022)
When a best-selling author returns home at Christmas to settle his mother’s estate, he meets a woman in search for her birth mother, and they find a diary that holds secrets to the past.
This holiday movie is pretty emotional, and really not cheesy at all, which I liked!
Justin Hartley, who plays Kevin on This Is Us (also on Netflix), stars as the main character!

The Holiday Calendar (2018)
After a young photographer is gifted an antique advent calendar by her grandfather, she discovers that it predicts her future.
This is a super cute and wholesome holiday movie, and Kat Graham (Bonnie from The Vampire Diaries, which you can watch on Prime Video) stars as the lead!

Falling for Christmas (2022)
A young heiress gets amnesia after a skiing accident, and she finds herself in the care of a handsome cabin owner and his daughter.
Falling for Christmas is your typical Hallmark-style Christmas movie, and it actually stars Lindsay Lohan.
It’s Lindsay’s first role in a major production in over a decade, and I’m really happy to see her acting again!

Holiday in the Vineyards (2023)
A man goes on a secret job for his mother’s wine company, and he falls for the widow of the place he’s renting.
Though this holiday romance does follow the stereotypical Hallmark-style movie, it is very cute and not too cheesy.
Holiday in the Vineyards stars Eileen Davidson (The Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives) and Omar Gooding (Smart Guy)!
1 film available on Netflix
A Christmas Prince franchise (2017, 2018, & 2019)
A young American journalist travels to the fictional nation of Aldovia in order to go undercover as a tutor and get the inside scoop on a playboy prince.
This franchise is pretty cheesy and predictable, but it’s still an enjoyable watch!
The sequels are about The Royal Wedding and The Royal Baby.
3 films available on Netflix, watch the trailers for the first, second, and third movies
The Princess Switch (2018, 2020, & 2021)
When a duchess and an ordinary American woman discover they’re doppelgängers, they decide to swap places and end up falling in love with each other’s beaus.
This franchise is also hella cheesy, but still a fun watch during the holidays.
Vanessa Hudgens stars as the two main characters, as well as another character later on.

We all know the iconic Grinch character from Dr. Seuss’ beloved children’s tale: he’s the grumpy recluse who tries to ruin Christmas for the happy citizens of Whoville.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a fun and cute holiday movie for the whole family.
This live adaption stars Jim Carrey, Taylor Momsen, and Christine Baranski!
