12 Best Restaurants in Toronto’s Entertainment District

12 Best Restaurants in Toronto’s Entertainment District

Because it’s such a popular area, there are tons of awesome restaurants in the Toronto Entertainment District to eat at.

Toronto’s Entertainment District is a tourist hotspot, but it’s also a great place for locals to wander around and peep out the restaurants and activities.

It’s actually one of my favourite neighbourhoods to explore, even though it’s so touristy!

Whether you’re watching sports games at the Scotiabank Arena, watching a TIFF film, or attending a convention show at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, there are plenty of great places to eat.

Here are some of the best restaurants to eat in the Entertainment District in Toronto!

Be sure to also follow me on Instagram and TikTok – I share a lot more content on those platforms that don’t make it to the blog!

Pai

Pai is one of the best Thai restaurants in Toronto, and it’s also my absolute favourite restaurants in the city!

They serve up Northern Thai cuisine here in Toronto, and their Khao Soi is divine.

It gets insanely busy during peak lunch and dinner hours, so try to go earlier or later, or just get takeout.

My fave way to order takeout is through Ritual, and you can get $10 off your first order using my code.

They’re located right in the Entertainment District, and if you’re watching a show at the Princess of Wales Theatre or Roy Thomson Hall, it’s only a few minutes away from both!

LOCATION: 18 Duncan St, Toronto, ON

General Assembly Pizza

From bright teal walls, to fun yellow chairs, to airy green plants, General Assembly is the definition of Instagram-worthy.

This aesthetically pleasing pizza spot serves up delicious wood-fired pizzas – some of the best pizzas in Toronto, in fact.

The Lamb Borghini (Middle Eastern-inspired) and Acapulco Gold (v spicy) are both amazing.

They also have a temporary popup restaurant on the Harbourfront with a gorgeous covered patio!

LOCATION: 331 Adelaide St. West, Toronto, ON

La Carnita in Toronto

La Carnita

Craving a taste of Mexican street food in Toronto?

La Carnita serves up delicious tacos and cocktails with locations all across the city, and one restaurant in the Entertainment District.

I absolutely love their fish tacos and their street corn!

Afterwards, you can grab some ice cream for dessert next door at their sister company, Sweet Jesus.

If you’re visiting during TIFF, it’s around the corner from the Princess of Wales Theatre and just 5 minutes away from the Scotiabank Theatre.

LOCATION: 106 John St, Toronto, ON

Little India

Little India has been around for as long as I’ve been around (since 1995 y’all), and I’ve been going here for at least a decade now.

They’re one of my favourite Indian restaurants in Toronto, and they serve a mean butter chicken dish.

Oh, and you can’t forget their awesome mango lassi and gulab jamun.

I could go on and on about their dishes – everything is just so damn good!

They’re located right along Queen Street by the Entertainment District.

LOCATION: 255 Queen St. West, Toronto, ON

Canteen Restaurant by Oliver & Bonacini in Toronto

Canteen

Canteen is my fave Oliver & Bonacini restaurant, and it’s located within the TIFF Bell Lightbox building.

Their Calamari Tacos are divine – the fried calamari and spicy mango sauce are just so darn delicious!

There’s a more upscale O&B restaurant upstairs in the TIFF Bell Lightbox called Luma, but I prefer the comfort food and casual atmosphere at Canteen.

LOCATION: 330 King St. West, Toronto, ON

Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar

Scaddabush is one of my fave Italian restaurant chains in Toronto.

I remember randomly deciding to stumble into their first Yonge & Gerrard location for dinner after class at Ryerson one day, and how happy my friends and I were to discover such a great spot.

Their charity bread and straight up meatball are amazing!

Scaddabush now has locations all across the GTA, with one right along Front Street.

LOCATION: Unit #G001, 200 Front St. West, Toronto, ON

Byblos

Enjoy upscale and contemporary Eastern Mediterranean fare at Byblos.

Go for something a little more traditional like their Turkish Manti Dumplings, or try something more unique like their Wagyu Lahmeh.

They’ve also got a location in midtown Toronto by Yonge & Eglinton.

LOCATION: 11 Duncan St, Toronto, ON

Cocktail at Kelly's Landing in Toronto

Kelly’s Landing

Kelly’s Landing is just down the street from Scaddabush, and it’s a huge restaurant with a super cool patio.

They’ve got all kinds of Canadian comfort food and fusion eats, great cocktails, and brunch on the weekends!

From crispy Korean Cauliflower to Steak Frites, they have so many delicious dishes to choose from.

They’re part of The Landing Group family of restaurants, with locations all around Toronto.

LOCATION: 123 Front St. West, Toronto, ON

Fresh on Spadina

I’m not the biggest eater of vegan food, but Fresh is one place I’m actively willing to eat at.

You know when you go to a vegan restaurant and their food just tastes vegan?

Yeah, so Fresh is nothing like that.

Their burgers and quinoa onion rings are awesome!

LOCATION: 147 Spadina Ave, Toronto, ON

Bar Hop

I discovered Bar Hop because they had $1 oysters a long time ago, and it’s a fantastic spot for drinks.

They’ve got an extensive list of beers and ciders on tap and in bottles and cans, as well as a good wine and cocktail selection.

They actually have two locations in the Entertainment District – one by Queen & Peter and one by King & Blue Jays Way.

They also have a location up at the Danforth!

The Queen & Peter location is my fave – it’s three storeys high with an awesome rooftop patio.

All-you-can-eat South American brunch at MARKED Restaurant in Toronto

MARKED Restaurant

MARKED Restaurant serves up incredible South American-inspired dishes, and they’ve got all-you-can-eat brunch on weekends!

Their all-inclusive brunch menu features quite a variety of classic brunch dishes like the Manchego Biscuit Benedict alongside unique South American dishes like Ceviche!

It’s $75 per person without bottomless bubbles and $95 per person with bottomless bubbles, and it’s definitely worth the seemingly steep prices.

Mushroom Arepa, Dates, and a mimosa (with pineapple prickly pear juice).

Manchego Biscuit Benedict, French Toast, Ceviche, and Mushroom Arepa.

The portions are also quite large for small plates, and Adam and I were both full after trying only 9 out of the 19 dishes!

I’d definitely come with a group so you can make the most out of your visit and try everything on the menu.

Our top fave dishes were definitely the French Toast, Salmon Tostada, and Pork Belly Bacon!

MARKED is open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday, as well as brunch on weekends.

Even the interior of the massive restaurant is absolutely stunning, and you’ll be in heaven if you’re a sucker for pretty bathrooms.

You can find MARKED right by the Scotiabank Theatre!

I’ve also got a TikTok video all about our dining experience if you want to see more!

Premium Sushi Lunch from Minami restaurant in Vancouver, British Columbia

Minami

Minami is a sister restaurant to the popular sushi restaurant Miku (both from Vancouver), and I’m personally more of a fan of Minami.

They’ve got everything from oshi sushi (pressed sushi) to their own signature sushi rolls, and it’s all amaze.

They also have some delicious entree options, including their Charred Octopus Wasabi Niçoise and Charcoal Aburi Chicken and Foie Gras.

If you’re in the mood for a tasting menu, they offer a 4-course tasting menu for $125, which can be paired with wine and sake for $40.

They’ve also got an extensive sake list, as well as their own craft cocktails!

You can find them in the Entertainment District by King & John!

LOCATION: 225 King St W, Toronto, ON
