Best lunch spots in Markham
Bingz Crispy Burger
Bingz is a fast casual restaurant chain based out of Beijing, and they serve up amazing Chinese crispy burgers.
Their combos range from $7.99 to $14.99, so they’re super affordable.
The crispy burgers are what you should be coming for, but they also have some noodle and wonton dishes.
You’ll also find some traditional Chinese drinks – definitely try their Plum Cold Brew!
They have over 140 locations across China, and you can find their first-ever Canadian restaurant at First Markham Place.
They’ve also now got locations inside Yorkdale Mall, Fairview Mall, and Scarborough Town Centre!

LOCATION: Unit 11 & 12, 3229 Hwy 7, Markham, ON
Super Smash Burgs
Peep out this epic burger spot in Markham for their juicy and mouthwatering smash burgers.
Their burgers start at $8.50, and you can choose between a single, double, or triple burger.
They actually started out as a pop-up restaurant, and their Markham location is their permanent home!
The restaurant is super colourful and fun, and they’ve even got a mural with Pikachu on it.
You can find them in the historic Main Street Markham neighbourhood!
LOCATION: 76 Main Street Markham N, Markham, ON
Pitalicious
Pitalicious is not a fancy spot, but it’s one of the best shawarma spots in Markham.
Their sandwiches start at $8.95 and their platters start at $14.95, and you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
I do always grab the platters rather than the sandwiches ’cause they’re a lot less messy and easier to eat.
Be sure to grab some baklava for dessert as well if you’ve got a sweet tooth!
LOCATION: 7605 Woodbine Ave, Markham, ON
The Noodle Bar
If you’re a noodle lover, you absolutely need to visit this popular Cantonese noodle spot in Markham.
How it works here is that you can completely customize your noodle bowls, from the noodles, to the toppings, to the sauces.
Toppings include things like slow cooked beef brisket, braised pig feet, and curry fish balls.
You can create your own noodle bowls starting at $11.50, or do one of their house specials starting at $16.
Their meats are marinated and cooked to perfection and their broths paired with their sauces are so dang good.
The restaurant is always packed, so be sure to arrive before or after peak lunch hours to avoid waiting in line.
You can also easily order takeout on their website, and orders are pretty quick to prepare.
Take note that they only accept debit or cash and don’t take credit cards.
You can also now visit their new location in Scarborough!
LOCATION: 3603 Hwy 7 #106, Markham, ON
Good Catch Bar & Café
Originally a seafood restaurant and sports bar, Good Catch now also serves up Hong Kong-style fare at their massive restaurant in Downtown Markham.
They’ve got set meals for $12.99, but they’ve got tons of affordable options on their menu.
We especially love any of their dishes with satay beef or curry – Adam pretty much always goes for the Pineapple Bun with Satay Beef & Egg!
Their double cheese baked dishes are amazing as well – you can choose between either rice or spaghetti for them.
You’ll also find unique dishes you won’t find at any other HK cafés, like their Sakura Shrimp and Chicken Fried Rice or their Prawn and Truffle Scrambled Eggs on Rice!
They’ve also got some unique brunch dishes, like their Crab Cake Benedict and Charcoal Toast with Milo Condensed Milk.
Most of their HK dishes actually come with a combo drink, and we love their Hong Kong-style Milk Tea, which you can have iced or hot!
If you’re craving western-style seafood dishes instead, you can grab dishes like lobster rolls to enjoy with local craft beer.
The Shrimp Toast is pretty good (though doesn’t have much shrimp), and it comes with either potato salad or fries.
The restaurant is divided between the sports bar and HK café, but you can order from either menu on either side of the restaurant!
I love how both sides of the restaurant have totally different vibes – the sports bar is more bright and open, while the HK café side is more cozy and intimate.
We prefer the café side during the day (bright and cozy) and the sports bar side at night (colourful lights and moody vibes)!
LOCATION: 179 Enterprise Blvd #109, Unionville, ON
Sung Won Korean Restaurant
Sung Won is a friendly, family-owned Korean restaurant known for their generous banchan (side dish) portions.
You’ll find all the Korean comfort food classics like Pork Bone Soup and Bibimbap.
Their lunch specials are all $13.99, which is really affordable!
Adam’s go-to dish is the Bulgogi Dupbap, and I like to try something different every time we dine here.
Their Chicken Katsu is also really good, and it comes with a delish dipping sauce!
They also give a generous portion of 4 different side dishes: potato salad (our fave), fish cakes, kimchi, and glass noodles.
LOCATION: 4431 Hwy 7, Unionville, ON
Gal’s Sushi
I’ve been going to Gal’s Sushi since I was in high school, and it truly never disappoints.
They’ve got both Japanese and Korean food on the menu, so you can have a taste of both.
The lunch specials are actually quite good – their sushi bento boxes range from $13.99 to $16.99, and I love the Korean side dishes that come in them!
If you’re more in the mood for Korean comfort foods, they’ve got lunch specials starting at $16.99 for dishes like Gamjatang (pork bone soup) and Chicken Katsu Donburi (deep fried chicken with rice).
There’s also a ton of seating inside the restaurant, and I love that it’s all booth seating to make it more cozy and intimate.
You can find them right by Highway 7 & Warden!
LOCATION: 3621 Highway 7 #106, Markham, ON
IKON Sushi Bar & Lounge
IKON is known for having fresh and delicious premium sashimi, which you can have in one of their platters or in their donburi (rice bowls).
They’ve got $16 lunch set menus, all of which come with sushi, seaweed salad, and miso soup.
You’ll also find a variety of platters like the Salmon Deluxe Sushi & Roll, which is perfect for salmon lovers and features a mix of fresh and torched salmon nigiri and rolls.
Their special rolls are definitely worth ordering as well, and they’ve got an amazing Supreme Roll with otoro, uni, and ikura and a super unique Salted Egg Spikon Roll with a delicious salted egg sauce.
If you’re a sashimi lover, try their IKON Chirashi Don, which features the chef’s selection of cubed sashimi with tamago, cucumber, ikura, and ponzu sauce.
They also wrap their takeout in fabric, a Japanese method called furoshiki, so you can keep it and reuse it for other things!
And if you’re dining in, you can enjoy a glass from their delicious selection of sake.
Located at First Markham Centre, which is across from First Markham Place, they’re kind of hidden, but totally worth the visit.
If you’re looking to get caffeinated afterwards, stop into The Library Specialty Coffee in the same plaza, an incredible Toronto coffee shop with a location in Markham!
You can also visit IKON’s second location in Vaughan.
LOCATION: 11 Fairburn Dr Unit 20, Markham, ON
J San Sushi & Market
If you love aburi sushi, you absolutely need to visit J San.
J San is part takeout restaurant and part market, and you’ll find some of the freshest fish in Markham here.
Their sushi combos range from $14.95 to $27.95, and my go-to is the Torched Sushi & Rolls Combo for $20.45.
It includes 13 pieces of a variety of torched sushi rolls, and it’s such great value.
They’ve also got plenty of sushi rolls on the menu, as well as make-your-own-sashimi-box and make-your-own-donburi options!
Both make-your-own options start with a base of sushi rice, and you can add your choice of toppings a la carte.
From o-toro (blue fin tuna belly), to seabream, so uni (sea urchin), they’ve got tons of topping options to choose from that you typically won’t find at other sushi places.
It’s nice, because you can just add all your favourite things to the box and pay per piece!
They’ve also got seating inside if you’re looking to dine in.
You can also visit their restaurant downtown near Yonge & Dundas!
LOCATION: 3365 Steeles Ave E Unit B01, Toronto, ON
Poke Guys
Poke Guys is one of my fave poke bowl spots in Toronto, and you can also find their takeout-style restaurant in the Downtown Markham neighbourhood.
You can choose between their signature bowls or build your own, and they have a nice selection of marinated raw tuna and salmon to choose from.
I pretty much always go for their Mauna Loa Poke Bowl – it’s perfect for anyone who loves spice!
They’re super generous with their sashimi, and they have some of the best sauces for poke bowls.
Every so often, they also come out with fun creations, like their delicious salmon and tuna poke bombs!
Their signature poke bowls start at $15.93, or you can build your own bowl starting at $14.38.
You can also find Poke Guys in downtown Toronto (near the Eaton Centre) and in Vaughan.
